It's going to be Germany and Ghana IMO.

I find it hard to root for the US. Landon Donovan is such a douche.

We may as well not bother turning up. I'm so depressed.

We're going to be the embarrassment of the tournament. I'm angry because I've been wanting to rebuild for the last 6 years, but coach after coach has refused to do that, instead relying on the veterans of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals.

Well we recently shipped 6 to Brazil, and 6 to France (sacked the coach after that), so it's very likely.

Yeah, that is probably the worst group you could have gotten. Getting a result in any game would be great.

The US will be lucky to score a goal against those three teams. Portugal is probably the best chance for a point, because Ghana has the US' number, and Portugal is suspect in the backfield.

I'm extra sorry now. 2nd place in your group plays 1st place in Brazil's...so NO ONE wants 2nd place. There isn't going to be any let up against you guys.

I think we'll beat Ghana. This is a different US team. We aren't miles and miles better than where we were, but I think we have a better mentality and I don't think past demons will haunt us. For Portugal, we need to figure out some soccer version of the Box and 1 defense and just deny Ronaldo any chance to get involved in the game. Germany is going to be absorb and counter...and hope not to lose 4-0.

I don't think Portugal is especially strong in any one area. Their coaching and focus will be massively important. If they're organized and tidy they can be an excellent side. Much like France I think it will come down to leadership from their manager and their team mentality.

If only every team was Norwich, he'd be the best striker EVER.

i think we will absorb and counter against germany. i dont think the ability to hold possession against them is there...and one thing good about our team is jozy and bradley are a step above what they were last world cup. I'm not sure about the defense though.

Lucky to score 1 goal? I think you are uderestimating the team a bit. The last time the US team played Germany the US team scored 4 goals in a win. Granted it was against Germany's B team, but that is still a pretty damn good squad. In the Confederation's cup in 2009, a worse team than this one, scored 2 goals against Spain and 3 against Brazil. I wouldn't be surprised if the US doesn't advance, but the team is hardly a helpless minnow.

Since I've been a soccer fan the US team has had victories against Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil. Have hope!

Germany is one of my favorite teams. I just hope Italy doesn't make it to the final. I hate those fuckers.
