Soccer is the most popular sport in the world because it's the easiest to play if you're poor.

All you need is a ball. You can create your own goals. You don't need anything else. Just a ball.

Baseball is probably the second easiest to play if you're poor. All you need is a ball and a bat-like object. American football is probably the hardest to play if you're a third world country. Extremely expensive with all those pads.

It's a bad idea to watch Germany and then anything American. The Germans are so precise, and we're just all over the place.

Just looking at the field was bad. As good as it has gotten, artificial turf < grass. I understand why teams use it, especially teams that share a field with an NFL team, but it still tarnishes it for me.

As a Seahawk fan I've been wondering why they haven't put in new turf... It looks awful.

Timbers have an extra layer of cushion under their turf called an "E Layer" to soften the field. Apparently football teams hate it, but soccer teams prefer it. As long as the Sounders play at Seahawks stadium it'll be a ping pong match.

You did prove my point about soccer fans getting butt hurt easily.

I'm not a soccer fan. I like the world cup, but I don't watch MLS or EPL or anything like that. I get tired of people raging over Americans getting into the world cup. I see it on facebook all the time complaining about the explosion on social media about the USMNT.

I don't think my reply had any butthurt in it.

How can someone get mad over supporting our own country?

I cheer for American athletes in the Olympics and the World Cup. The other 3 years I don't follow it.

It's the same shit during the Olympics. Some people get angry over the trendyness of following the Olympics, or the World Cup, or anything else that the world gets caught up in.

Huh? Who gets angry over not watching the Olympics? All I did was post a funny tweet and you went into full butt hurt mode over it. I watched the game yesterday.

All I'm saying is more than any other sport it seems that if you don't drink the soccer kool aid soccer fans get bent. It's not bad, it's just kinda funny. They instantly go on the defensive. I just don't see fans of other sports get that upset if you say you don't pay that much attention to that sport.

You think THIS is full butthurt mode? Really Sly? Really?

This doesn't even register on my butthurt Richter scale.

    Ice hockey, bro.

Poor kids in this country play football all the time. They just don't use pads.

I'm sure you're already making an Airsoft gun aimed at a dog w/ a soccer ball pulling the trigger avatar.
