you guys are agreeing with each other, yet still arguing somehow nate: no need for people to be soccer elitists sly: soccer elitists suck like an old married couple
No, that's not what I'm talking about at all. I'm saying there are people who hate soccer and hate everyone else for "pretending" to like soccer during the World Cup. It's the same people who hate the Olympics, and hate everyone for "pretending" to care about the Olympics every four years.
Americans who get into the World Cup but don't follow soccer the rest of the time are just hipsters, trying to fit in with all the other young soccer lads who want to seem international. I think we can all agree on that.
its in its best form, and national teams are interesting its soccers best product, so wouldnt it be logical for casual fans to only care about the world cup and nothing else? like "oh, you dont watch all porn? only good porn? your not a true porn fan." i mean, illogical would be liking mls, but not bothering with the world cup
I enjoy watching the world cup I don't like or watch soccer in general I like going to Timber games if the weather is good I don't know where I should be labeled in this whole labeling of soccer fans . . I will say this, during the world cup I saw a lot more chicks into soccer than any other sport. Chicks dig the futbol . . .
North Korea won their group stage with some impressive results.
Money isn't the reason soccer is so popular. Pick a sport with a ball and you can play it without going to a sports store for equipment. You don't need pads to play a variety of football. It all boils down to cultural tradition. Also
Yeah disagree about football. Growing up we played 1 on 1 with a qb, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, etc. No need for pads. I think baseball is the hardest for kids growing up because of there is a limited number, the game is shit or just like home run Derby or something. Takes more people and more space
