<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The World Championship began Saturday in Japan, and Pistons forward Carlos Delfino is there with Argentina getting a good tune-up for the upcoming NBA season.

Team scouting director Tony Ronzone was expected to travel to Japan to watch Delfino, but the early reports from the exhibition schedule pleased the front office.

Team president Joe Dumars and coach Flip Saunders have said Delfino will get minutes next season and be in the playing rotation, subbing for shooting guard Richard Hamilton and small forward Tayshaun Prince.

The Pistons couldn't ask for a better situation for Delfino to experience this summer as a tune-up to that challenge.

With the reigning Olympic gold medalists, Delfino will be a key player in the rotation backing up shooting guard Manu Ginobili (San Antonio Spurs) and small forward Andres Nocioni (Chicago Bulls), an upcoming star and a player who established himself as a tough-minded scorer last season.</div>
