Blowing a 3-1 series lead and dropping the final two at home is an epic choke by the Indians.

...that's the other problem I had...I'm normally a fan of Maddon's but bringing Chapman in the previous game with a 5 run lead after he threw 42 pitches in game 5 made no sense at all to me...that's a total of 97 freaking pitches in 3 successive games, Chapman was wore out, and it showed in game 6, and it damn sure showed last night.

...the other head scratcher for me was having Baez bunt with 2 strikes in the 9th, and when the next batter stranded the go ahead runner at 3B I was then convince the Cubs had no chance...and when they put the tarp down I said f' it, I'm going to bed.

...but the Cubs showed a lot of moxy by coming back in spite of their manager's questionable decisions...they're a team built for many more post season in the near future. Like the Sox finally winning in '04 it gave them more confidence and it opened the floodgates for even more titles...I see the same for the Cubs.

That was an awesome series, Maddon the Mad Scientist mismanaged the Bullpen but still wound up with the win. Congrats to the Cubs.

...I'll probably watch some of the Cubs' victory parade today...I've read that though he is delighted the Cubs won, Steve Bartman will not be attending the parade.

...I don't blame the poor guy one bit.

Me neither, Bartman was just one of many interfering or trying to, with that foul ball....

That would be hell, to have to hide, eventually move away, along with death threats; or the scapegoat much like the Goat's Curse...

I'll be watching the parade with delight. The One Cub Fan I wanted to hear most from was Bill Murray. Fair to poor coverage, although his expressions of tears of joy, and champagne bath like a baptism were priceless at it gets...

But then what is necessary to say, when these deprived fans expressions say it all; and again fk you Lebron....

...fwiw, I would not be surprised to see David Ross in a managerial role before long.

A steady Vet capable of getting through to younger players; who would benefit any team he coaches for...

He reminds me a bit of Joe Girardi, with his calm mannerisms, when Joe was skipper of the Marlins. I could see Ross being a similar type Coach, tho' he would make a good Catcher's Coach, et al. as time goes by.

Zobrist, is another who imo will make a good coach in years to come, once he retires. Ben doesn't play like he's 35, (will be 36 in May); was a key (Jeteresque, well sort of) spark plug for the Cubs and Royals too. Good defense, one of the best key clutch hitters of all, who got his hits when the team most needed. Zobrist is definitely MR. Intanglible(s)....

This is as good as it ever gets, well a Wall Street Ticker parade tops all, but this is so fkng sweeeeetttt, sweet home Chicago...Cubs Fans deserved this one, for having to wait way way too long for this, even the ghosts of Leo Durocher, Mordecai Brown, Spalding, and GC Alexander were seen walking the streets; while Tinker, Evers and Chance were playing stickball in the streets.....

shit, I've been up all night, and I think my mind is in a phantasmagorical prism. No Trainwreck here, just a Purple Grandaddy-

oh wow, I was unaware of this event, for the brilliant song writer-

"Riding on the City Of New Orleans
    Illinois Central, Monday morning rail
Fifteen cars and fifteen restless riders
Three Conductors; twenty-five sacks of mail
All along the southbound odyssey - the train pulls out of Kankakee
And rolls along past houses, farms, and fields
Passing trains that have no name, and freight yards full of old black men
And the graveyards of the rusted automobile....."

Loved this bit with Murray, the unofficial Cubs Mascot, and now Yankee Minor Lg Charlotte Team owner....

this is the ONE....! Bill's Mom, is responsible for the Cubs winning the World Series, she insists so, yet has been deceased for 28 yrs.... Classic Carl Spackler...!!!

One of the best sports related articles in the old "National=Sports Daily" Newspaper in 1990. Murray half drunk hung out over the Cubs dugout to offer a peeved Don Zimmer, if he'd like a drink of bill's Heineken, or a bit of his chili fries....

Later on, as the journalist tails Murray across the country over a week. He followed Murray to a downtown Chicago high end men's suit shop. The most popular Cub players were on hand to sign autographs, for customer's coming in to browse. Murray ate a catered apertif of marmalade pork chop, ate it to the bone, then left the bone in a silk sports coat pocket hanging up on the rack, for someone to discover....

Later on, Murray would have the journalist drive his Winnebago across KS, while Bill drunk on Heineken, cooked Steaks on a Hibachi, rolling down the Turnpike, the Winnebago was so full of smoke, the driver couldn't see or breathe to drive, in the smokehouse RV...

love how these guys can finally say, "chicago cubs are world champs today"; may be the 2nd best thing to a Yanx W.S.; but we know that could not be expected, this year.
