He is a player that they couldn't play at the end of a close game without him being a liability. Imagine them with CJ instead of Simmons in the closing minutes of those games. . SO MUCH better. Simmons is very good at some things, but if you can't currently play him at the end of games, his price should be lower.
Well, he’d certainly be a monster at the free throw line. How can you play a guy in the 4th quarter when he only makes a third of his free throws in clutch situations? Hack-a-Ben would be a constant problem.
Why I'm definitely on the Ben Train: 1) We were 29th in defense - historically bad. 2) Fast breaking Ben would turn DJJ into a valuable player 3) Trading CJ would increase the likelihood of re-signing Powell 4) I LOVE the idea of Switching Everything (a la the Clips), which you could totally do with Powell-RoCo-Ben. 5) I think Ben will really respond to Lillard's leadership - Ben no longer faces the difficult press questions, Lillard does. 6) Did I mention that we were 20-effing-9th in defense, and NO NBA CHAMPION has ever been nearly that bad? Did I mention that CJ is the worst defender among the starters? Edit: Lillard asked management to try to get Draymon (and it's not because of Draymon's sparkling personality...). Ben is the closest thing to a Draymon player that we could possibly get.
lol come on, stop playing with my emotions. Literally every NBA outlet has Portland at the forefront. But who the hell know with Olshey/Morey
If we are going to get him, I really hope we do it sooner rather than later so we can go hard at Norm. I'd also really like to include his development in the interviews with coaches.
