I don't think Sheed would have dominated him, but, he would have outplayed him. If Garnett and Duncan can't dominate Malone, Sheed definitely wouldn't be able to.
Well we will never know what if Malone was healthy for the finals. Malone would of made a difference but three things we didn't have that Detroit had. 1. DEFENSE 2. BENCH STRENGTH 3. PLAYING AS A TEAM NOT INDIVIDUALLY. Would Malone been able to make the difference, I think he could have but we don't know what the Pistons and Brown would of done either. I only hope Malone can get healthy so the Lakers get him as a free agent. Lakers are down but not out. GO LAKERS
I think that detroit still woud have one because in game 1 malone was on 7 days rest and healthy at the start and he was of no use to the lakers and the reason the lakers lost imo was because they played as individuals and not as a team so it would not have made any difference imo malone is a roll player for the lakers imo even though he is a hall of famer the lakers needed kobe and shaq to play well to win and kobe shot under 40 % 38 % to be exact and shaq got less than 10 rebounds in every game that mattered while his counter part big ben got 10 rebounds on the offensive glass alone in game 5

So, he obviously wasn't under 10 every game.

They asked Derek Fisher this question after they lost. He said the same things like all of us members. Alot of what if's and yeah it could've made a difference. But what about the TimberWolves with Sam. Bottom line the better team won. But I do think it could've made it alot more competitive series. He could've caused a bit a trouble on Sheed like he did Duncan. But Detroit definately wanted it more.
Yes, they would have won because Karl wasn't doing to well in the playoffs to begin with. He is very old and the way Detroit played in that series would of put him to sleep after the 1st quarted ended. Detroit was un-stoppable, and yes Rasheed would of still played a good series with him covering him.
I should be blaming Gary Payton poor play and I should be making excuses about Malone being healthy, but I think Detroit eliminating the Lakers would of been more harder for them to accomplish if the whole Lakers squad played as one unit with more hunger for the title than the Pistions. If Malone was healthy, the Pistons would of eliminated them anyways, seeing how Rasheed owns him and the Lakers playing individually, while most of the Piston's offense is scored through players other than who Malone guards. I don't think Malone would of had any significant impact of any faucet of the game unless if they played as one unit.
The series would definitely be more exciting if Karl Marlone was healthy. From the first three rounds, we could see how effective Marlone was as far as containing the opponent power forwards. Plus, Marlone is one of the two main rebound machines in Lakers this season, without him, Shaq is the only one who could jump high and grab rebounds. Also, Marlone is one of the best passers I have seen who could set the tone in the offensive side. Also, he is like a big brother to every other Lakers to make Lakers a "team". Obviously I can't say Lakers would beat the shit out of Pistons if Marlone was healthy, but Pistons couldn't be this dominant anymore that's for sure. Rasheed Wallace? haha not try to look down on him or anything, but he is just not as good as Duncan and Garnet. In game four, Rasheed got 26 points or so and Pistons beated Lakers by eight points, well, if Marlone was there(and healthy), Rasheed's score would had been cut by half in my opinion and on the other side Marlone would had added some more points so Lakers would had won game four. Then the series wouldn't end in Detroit.
I think the Piston's would've lost this series with Derek Fisher at PG and Slava Medvadenko at PF. Yep..
The 5th game was JUST TERRIBLE if you compare the rebound stats. 23 from ben wallace, malone would have prevented that for sure even if he wouldnt have gotten many points.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Peja King:</div><div class="quote_post">would the lakers be in the finals if Fisher had missed his .4 shot?</div> Now that is one question that should be answerd.
