I think you're forgetting how dominant Amare was back then. Of course much of that had to do with playing off of Nash but the guy was absolutely insane, averaged 30/11 in 15 games in the 2005 playoffs, 25/12 in the 07 playoffs. He was an animal pre-injuries and before he developed an outside game. Aldridge definitely a better creator for himself and probably a better defender by default but reobunding is about the same and Amare in those days was more dominant as a perfect compliment to Nash.

Id like to see what Nash does with LA because of how dominant Amare looked with Nash running the PnR with him. LA has no one to do that with him, most of his baskets he creates for himself. Give him an all star guard and I think LA would be downright scary.

LA is not a good PnR player. He doesn't set good screens and doesn't like rolling.

Aldridge would be at least that good playing with Nash. Nash is still an All Star. Amare is not.

It's not the wrong thread if that three made you re-evaluate and decide you wouldn't ship Felton in a deal for Nash.

Batum for Nash is one of the dumber ideas I've heard in quite some time. That would be horrible move.

Nash would be GREAT in Portland if:

We still had Aldridge and Batum.

    We didn't have Nate.

    Anything else is treading water.

A good big used to give them fits. After they got Perkins it hasn't been like that.

They are a solid team because they play good D, are long and have dynamic scorers. Its a good mix. Brooks is an underrated coach, too.

No. But, he's a great pick and pop player. Maybe best in the league.

Perkins gets in foul trouble a lot, at least this year. Also there D hasnt been as good as it was last year. Still good but not a top tier D team.

Good is all they really have to be on defense when they have the best offense in the league (atleast top 3).

    This.

    And THAT.

So do we have a chance at signing Nash in the off season?

    Nash
    Batum
    Wallace
    Aldridge
    Camby

    Possible? Would be Legit.

I don't think he'd want to sign for a short contract and I'm still not convinced that Nash puts us over the top. I'd rather try to throw big money at a young star.

Na, Keep Batum and just trade for another 27 + point guard that throws up bricks.
Keep Batum and LaMarcus as our rebuilding team for another year as we still search for a clutch player that acts like Roy.

Really, you think Nate's system goes after a young star in the bake it concept? I think not. LOL. Wishful thinking. Even if Portland plays a frosh/soph player in a blowout win (20 points midway in the 3rd quarter) he only plays them less than 10 minutes anyhow. And even if Nate stresses out if the lead is cut to 10 within a few minutes he freaks out and puts back in the starters.

Charlotte is the perfect example why Nate fails as a coach and didn't give Williams, N Smith, Babbitt and Chris Johnson more experience in that game.

The way Nic has been playing lately; he is almost about as untouchable as Aldridge now.

If that game is Exhibit A, then last week's Clips debacle is Exhibit B. Nico leads us to a big lead, so Nate takes the air out of the ball, stops going to him, and instead calls Crawchuck's number 20 times in a row until finally the game is lost. I don't know, maybe Nate has been instructed to tank for a lotto pick. I just don't know.
