Would you trade a package that centered on Nik Batum for Monta Ellis?

    Yes. Ellis/Roy/Wes > Miller/Wes/Batum. Pending on Roy's status....

I'd be more interested in Steph Curry.

Monta Ellis is one of my favorite players to watch play, but I love Nic and all the different things he can do on both ends of the court.

No. I wouldn't want Ellis on the blazers

I'm with HCP on this one. I just don't want to trade Batum. I think he's going to thrive once we can McMillan.

If Ellis is so good, why do the Warriors suck?

I would only need 2 seconds to evaluate and analyze that deal. Of course I would make that trade

If Batum is so good why are we only 1 game over .500?

If not for Batum we would not have a winning record.

    Fixed.

Seriously though, I'm not really a fan of Ellis. The guy has talent, no question, but he just seems like one of those gunners that won't ever win anything.

In terms of getting closer to a title, this may slightly move the bar from the current 'no way' to 'if every superstar in the NBA gets injured, then maybe'.

Ellis a career 16.8 PER player who is at 20 this year with a usage rate of 28.1. He's fun to watch, but he doesn't win games.

Tough question for me. Ellis would have to be the SG or I think LMA's game would suffer with him as the floor leader. So does Wesley play better at the 2 or the 3? Not sure at this point. That would be a short team.

Monta can score. No doubt about that. It is tempting.

We need a closer... I'm not sure if Ellis is that guy. He's a prolific scorer, but can he do it when the game is on the line?

No. Batum is not untradable, but he is very wanted around the league, and should only be getting better. I would rather keep him unless another trade comes up that nets the Blazers a player one step better than Ellis. If we trade Batum for Ellis, we can never trade Batum again. And I just don't trust Ellis will be the right fit as player or as a person. It would not be the worst trade, but I would pass.

I don't think Batum is half as valued around the league as he is to you guys. Nice prospect but in all likelihood he'll be a solid starter type and nothing more. Sort of reminds me of how you guys thought Rudy was going to be some stud top 5 SG/SF a few years ago. I'd love either of them on the W's but I've never thought either of them will be anything more than a fringe all-star at best and more likely just a decent NBA wing player.

And I agree with those that say Monta isn't really a guy who you build around and win with. I wouldn't trade him only for Batum but I'd move him for something centered around Batum. If Roy was still healthy Monta would have been a damn good scoring PG to play off of him...

I was joking in response to Mediorce Man's post. We are a whole one game over .500, quite a winning record.
