Trading for Gasol doesn't not anywhere near a championship in the next 3 years. Developing Nurk plus whatever else might happen in the next 3 years including the the Warriors downtick just might. I like those odds better
I didn't go through all of her photos. Didn't care to give it THAT much thought. I saw 2-3 photos, she looked waaaayyyyy better than that photo, and posted my comment.
If the Blazers had snagged Paul George or maybe Carmelo last summer so that their window is now, I’d say absolutely. As it is, even though he makes the Blazers better right now, they’d still struggle to get out of the second round. I think you have to hope Nurkic matures and is the better player by the time NO gets the roster right.
Not really https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gasolma01.html His efficiency, defense and polish showed up pretty quickly. He did come over when he was already 24, so there's that. But like I said, it's all six of one, half-dozen of another to me.
He's going to be 33 in a month or so, and I don't think adding him would make us a title contender for the next 2 years he has as an elite player. I'm not sure Nurkic will get much better but I'd rather have him for the next 5-10 years than Gasol for 1-2. I'm not opposed to trading Nurk for a center upgrade before his payday comes, but due to the age I don't think Gasol is it. If they really think Collins has the potential to be really good center I could see them bringing him in to mentor him I guess.
