He's improving every week and doesn't make a lot of mistakes taking chances like a shovel pass to a defensive linemen. I'm not sure he's thrown a pick-6 either this season. He'll be a free agent after this season and they don't expect the Patriots to re-sign him. He's mobile, has a good arm, and performs in the clutch. Would he work in SF?
he cant be any worse, id just hate to give up anything of value for him. if we can sign him to a moderate deal im all for it.
The Pats would love to sign him, but he's unrestricted, so somebody is going to offer him way more money than the Pats will be willing to pay a backup. Minnesota, SF, Houston, NYJ, Tennessee, KC, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit, and St.Louis, off the top of my head, could all be in the market for him.
Yeah, this is his big chance to cash in, he's gotta take it. There are a lot of teams out there that need a QB. He's still young too, someone is going to throw a lot of money his way.
He wouldn't be a horrible pickup, but I think he'll get paid more than he is worth. We don't exactly have the weapons that he currently has in New England (Moss, Welker, a much better offensive line, etc.)
