I can't imagine how much Rudy Gay might have been picked on when he was a kid. He made it so far and now heading into the NBA so i give props. He should ask his team to make it Rudy G or something. Otherwise, I'm not buying!

But still, I wouldn't wear it. Damn, can you imagine if he somehow went to the Nuggets, and they put out a retro jersey?</div> HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! LMAO this would be a dream. If only the Nuggets could trade down and draft Gay, he becomes a star, and they release the retro ones to public.

I've been thinking about the jersey thing the moment all the Rudy Gay hype started. What I've been thinking is that the gay community may get a hold of it and start rocking it. Then all the straight guys who were planning on buying the jersey wouldn't wanna be associated with it any more. So basically, Rudy will lose most of his sales from heterosexual males, but he could make up for it by the increased sale from the gay community. Could turn out to be a marketing success..... but most likely not. Anyways, I think he should've changed his last name (for the media only, not actually change his name) while he was in high school. It's nothing to be ashamed of really, lots of people in the media do it all the time. Actors, news anchors, authors, journalists..... they all do it, especially foreign people who have names that are considered too "unique" and almost embarassing. He's changing it for marketing purposes only, so it should've have been too big of a deal.
I personally wouldn't buy it..maybe he could put just "R.G." on the back of it. If he doesn't then...i respect the guy. The guy has been through middleschool and high school with the same name....imagine the teacher on the first day of class calling his name, "Rudy G-Gay?....Rudy G?" and all the punk ass kids laughing (I'd probably be one of them). I don't think he'll change it...if he hasn't by now then no.
Randall Gay plays for the New England Patriots. His jersey is one of the top selling jerseys on the team, despite the fact that he isn't very good.
It might not sell that well in the elementary-high school demographic, because people that age are dumbasses. If he's good, I don't see it being that big a problem.
