I'm with you .....I love to enjoy the beach...my problem would be with littering or aggressive behavior...beyond that..to each his own..have to say I've been fishing and hiked down rivers to find piles of broken booze bottles and beer cans on a sandbar....I don't like the idea of broken glass on the beach or in the water
yes...and I wish rivers were too...it's hard to find a place to park and fish as so much riverfront is privately owned
Wow....Fines up to $1250 and or jail time. Apparently, your leaders had a political debacle and the whiplash is on the normal 18-30 male population that consumes a 6 pack on a regular basis and a 12 stack on the weekends
This bill completely outlaws annual beach cleanup participants or any caring citizen from picking up said containers, which means our beaches will look like a Sacramento trailer court in no time. Jailing someone for 30 days in Oregon costs the state roughly $40,000, then a lifetime of social services support and continued re-jailings since being convicted of anything pretty much kicks you out of most normal employment opportunities.
Easy solution to both--those who are being jailed for 30 days can have the conviction expunged from their record if they're willing to spend that time cleaning up the beaches. Don't be part of the problem--be part of the solution!!
