Anyone here write music, poetry, etc?

I've been doing it for a while, and more frequently as of late. I don't know why - but it's kinda fun sometimes. It's cool if you are in the mood, and if you aren't forget about it.

Hands
I look down at my
Calloused, scarred hands,
Thinking what these hands
Have done
What these hands have written
How these hands have
Caressed
How these hands have worked
And why these hands have comforted
The touch of love
The simple hand on your
Shoulder
Powerful and sturdy
Gentle and forgiving
I look down at my
Hands
And wonder
What words flow next

You
Because you take the time to listen
I open my heart
And sing from my soul
Because you stand in the shadows and let me shine
I open my heart
Like a spring bubbling up
Because you stand in the shadows and let me shine
You smile with pride
Through the inside you hurt
Overflowing with emotion
When I let my song fly free
Through the inside you hurt
You open up your heart like a door unlocked.

When I let my song fly free
Filled with a sense of wonder
You open up your heart like a door unlocked
And let my song tug on your heartstrings
Overcome with emotion
I see you smile
And I sing from my soul
Overcome with emotion
Because you take the time to listen

Guess I'm emo at heart... without the boring personality. [IMG]

I have a lot of song ideas I haven't fully realized, but they're all on my laptop.

I love to write. It's one of the most fulfilling practices you can do IMO, and it's underrated as a form of stress release/emotional discharge. I've seen some more of Ice's stuff too, and it's very good.

I love most of your writing, Ice. Keep it up. I'm sure if you submitted that stuff you'd make some kind of poetry book or win some kind of contest.

I write, but when I write it's music. I've written some pretty nice songs on guitar, but my best work is done on bass. I'll practice almost every day for hours at it. It's really fulfilling when you're able to play your finished product though.

That's some top stuff there, Ice. I've been meaning to get into some songwriting, just don't know where to begin...

Nice work Ice, I used to write hopeless romantic type poems...but I'll spare my being called a sissy and not post them.

Shard, I've seen your work and it's great. You should share it.

Heres a quickie..

A hundred pairs of widening eyes,
Stare through the flames that mesmorise,
Watch embers float like fireflies,
As the fire burns.

A circled mass of glowing faces,
Each of which the heat embraces,
Fixed to their unmoving places,
As the fire burns.

Each crackling spark conceals a cry,
Instead causing an endless sigh,
Spare a thought for those who die,
As the fire burns.

Nice stuff Ice, I myself used to write, and whenever a school project came about I used to do it more and more. Now, I don't as much, and most of my stuff is different notebooks which are nowhere to be found.

Dancer

The lights shimmer like a stunning flash
Bursting before your eyes
It?s time
The stage awaits you

All eyes are on you
The dancer

Your body is anesthetized
Your costume is rigid
Your face is prominent.

Are you ready?

The signal is given
It?s time to move
Move to the music

The world is watching
As you sophisticatedly soar across the theater
The delicacy of your slipper
Places itself on the ground

Crashing like a horrendous wave
Resembling a abrupt snapshot
It flashes before your eyes

It?s over

All eyes are still on you
The dancer

----

I cant smile for any length of time
I cant feel any love in my spine
I cant believe I'll ever be fine
I want to take a life
I'll take my own
to see the end, flesh rot off bone
when you see me
in my moment of peace
let me sit
leave me be
while that part of me looks deceased
the rest of me is free

Wave.. interesting poem earlier, eh?
