A very good article from Canzano. http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/john_canzano/index.ssf/2016/04/post_27.html I don't think Canzano is much different than most people this year. Before the season, I was guessing 37-38 wins, and I thought that was optimistic. I thought with the lack of other weapons on the floor, Dame would be stifled by the focus of the other teams defense. Here are some things I'm truly impressed with: - Dame's uptick in production. -- increasing his ppg from 21.0 to 25.5 while maintaining about the same amount of minutes played. -- increasing his apg from 6.2 to 6.9. -- increasing his PER from 20.7 to 22.1. - CJ's amazing improvement. With doubling his minutes per game (x2.21), his production kept pace. -- Points per game increased from 6.8 to 20.9. (x3.07 !!!!) -- Assists per game increased from 1.0 to 4.3. (x4.30 !!!) -- Increased his rpg from 1.5 to 3.2. (x2.13) -- Increase his already amazing 3 pt% from 0.396 to 0.421. -- Increased his PER from 13.1 to 17.7. - Crabbe's emergence as the 3rd top scorer on the team. He doubled his minutes (x1.94), resulting in: -- PPG increased from 3.3 to 10.2. (x3.09 !!!) -- Increased his 3 pt% from 0.353 to 0.390. - Mo Harkless showing he's worth more than a throw away 2nd round pick. With 25% more minutes than last year, he: -- Increased his ppg from 3.5 to 6.4. (x1.82) -- Increased his rebounding from 2.4 to 3.6. (x1.5). -- Increased his PER from 8.4 to 13.4. - Al Farouq's emergence as a starter -- Averaging a career high 36.0% from 3 point range (last year he shot 27.4%). -- While increasing his minutes from 18.5 to 28.7 (x1.55), he increase his scoring average from 5.6 to 10.2 (1.82). I'm glad I underestimate them to start the year. This team has been fun to watch.
even an article with shitzano admitting he was wrong and being 'positive' with good stats etc isn't enough to make me click that link n give him any form of audience. he's just a lame human.
"Too much" seems so subjective. Neil could have been like - "I want a first rounder" and someone would think he's nuts because Hendo is a UFA this summer.
The stats were my add. Canzano mostly stuck with tidbits about the impressive performance of many of the players. Here's another fun little quote -
I have never heard Canzano say he was wrong let alone the ten or so times he drops it in his article...the world may very well end. I liked the part about free agents going anywhere as long as the team is winning... Build it Olshey and they will come!
I like that we've established a culture of gym rats, working hard, and being unselfish. If a free agent has those qualities he'll consider coming here. If there's a star free agent that don't have those qualities let the Lakers, Knicks chase after them.
I'm not giving him the least bit of credit. Canzano is a f-cking scumbag. He'll jump on any bandwagon for sources and then drop said coach or athlete off a cliff. He has all the professional scruples of Richard Nixon.
I had a conversation with him on Twitter; he told me he made more money than me and offered to have me come on his show and examine each others' paychecks.
seeing as how im in new zealand its unlikely but then again, I've read enough of his stuff in the past to know that he displays many of the qualities i dislike in people. attention-seeking uninformed often completely wrong and then belligerent about it when proved wrong focus on the negative for 'shock value' outlandish comments overall totally annoying that's more than enough for me to form an opinion on him, as it's how he presents himself.
I would like him to write an article admitting that he's a shit-stirring, self-centered douchebag, I'll respect that.
