Bravo! to Mo for taking a look in the mirror, and changing his attitude , that not only has lead to him regaining time on the court, but help take the Trailblazers to a higher level. The sky's the limit for this team if Mo can consistently bring this from here out.
What to expect from Harkless Next Season? The good Harkless from the 2nd Part of the Season or the terrible Harkless from 1st Part of the Season? Still think he has Potencial to be a Good 3nD Player
I have no idea, but I do hope he worked on his ball handling this summer. I just want more aggression from Harkless. He shot well from distance last year, I want more of that. If he could get his handles even average, then I don't see a reason why he couldn't be an all-star in a few years. Physically, he has it all. Harkless needs to hang out with Baldwin more.
It's the same shit every year. If he weren't so inconsistent, we wouldn't desperately be looking for wings.
I think Mo is one of those guys who has always been the man on a basketball court and is still at times trying to adjust. I know it seems like he should have figured it out by now and he’s getting there. To me bad Mo goes to the corner and disappears stops playing hard on defense and just kind of goes through the motions, this happens to guys who are having a hard time with the question, “why isn’t the ball in my hands?”, I think we saw good mo, accepts being a 3 point shooter a slasher, runs on the fast break and plays stingy defense. I think and hope the last part of the season was mo figuring out the question of what can make him a special NBA player. He can be a good role player if he chooses to be, but a lot of guys struggle accepting that.
Here is an article on this very subject, published today; but there is no information on what he has been doing this summer. https://www.blazersedge.com/2018/7/...e-harkless-primed-for-a-breakout-year-2018-19
If Harkless could just shoot around 38% consistently from 3 (41.5% last year) then he is a solid starter that we don't have to worry about at all. If he can shoot over 40% again that would be great. If he reverts back to the 35% range we will probably have trouble making the playoffs since he's our best perimeter defender and needs to be out there. I don't think that is asking too much. Just shoot 38% from deep, play good defense, crash the boards, and take advantage of smaller defenders in the post.
Our Shooting should be much better with Curry (Hopefully healthy), Trent if he get's a opportunity, Stauskas and Yeah Maybe Simons too, i also expect better 3 point Shooting from Zach Next Season. A lot of these guys will Benefit from Baldwin's Assists (if he get's his Contract guaranteed hopefully. So 38% from Moe would be okay, but 40% or more would be HUGE
https://www.thesportster.com/basket...players-who-broke-out-later-in-their-careers/ Interesting Bruce Bowen didn't show up until he joined the Spurs at age 30....Ben Wallace until he was 27...plenty of late bloomers became great players
I wouldn't even use % on a barometer for Harkless. As he's not generally the man setting a pick and being left wide open because the defense doesn't respect his shooting ability. This man is Aminu. I'd say it's more important for Harkless & Aminu not let one game where they go 0-3/4/5 carry over to the next where they put up similar numbers. Players will go through slumps, but last year was excessive from these two imo. Especially Harkless.
consistency, and i think its mental. besides our alpha and beta(dame and cj), most of last years squad seemed very weak in comparison. leonard ,harkless, even nurk, et al, tease us regularly but can't seem to put it together night in and night out on the offensive side of the ball. confidence or whatever you want to call it seems weak to me.
