It means you are way off base.

We'll just draft Cuttino Mobley next. Easy-peasy.

This is a Harkless thread. But somehow turned in to a Pat Con thread.
Pat was a second round gem. He gives his all every second of every minute on the court. Teams dream of picking up guys like Pat Con in the second round. His next contract will likely be around 10-12 Million for three years. You do realize that is a steal right?
Now put that guy in a Spurs uniform in your mind for just a second..... Yeah that's what i thought.

No they don’t. The minimized role does though

    Any other takes?

I like and admire that @Scalma is not afraid to have an unpopular opinion. I agree that that right late 1st round pick could replicate or replace Pat's role but not likely the first year. Now thinking that Baldwin has a legit chance at a better future in the NBA than Shabazz I just can't wrap my head around.

What minimized role? (Since the ASG) He plays 13 minutes a night backing up a guard who plays 35, and is a +4 doing it. I'm not seeing the narrative.

Connaughton was seeing 20 minutes a night early in the season. Napier wasn’t even in the rotation until Connaughton started struggling/regressing.

My argument has been that if Napier gets a bigger offer elsewhere, I’d be ok with letting him go and rolling with Baldwin as the third PG. Besides shooting, I think Baldwin potentially (operative word) brings more to the table. He’s a better playmaker for others, better at getting to the line, and offers more defensive versatility. But all of that is theoretical, so I’d understand the hesitation.

That may have came off as a back-handed compliment (if so then I am sorry) but I was trying to focus more on that I appreciate your contributions even if I don't agree with them all.

You mean while Dame was out injured? Seems like there would be more minutes to go around yeah.

Why is this so important to you that you’ll insult me to earn internet dick measuring points? Like okay fine Pat is playing fewer, more effective minutes. He’s playing better after ASG than right before it. What of it? He’s not being “minimized”; MEYERS is being minimized.

I don’t see how a guy that went from 20+ minutes to now almost half that can be described as anything other than minimized.

Meyers never had a role to begin with. How do you minimize 0?

    And I insulted you? Please.

I’m sorry. It’s obvious you need this win, so have it.

Honestly, I don't think any will go. If anyone, it's Pat.

Nurkic - We'll keep him. He'll probably get $14M a year, but it's worth it.
Davis - Wants to be here, not going to get signed for any more than the max MLE, lets say $6M
Shabazz - Not many teams need a PG. The position is stacked. Won't get more than max MLE either. $7M for him too.
Pat - Hasn't shown enough to get a huge contract. I see $4M for him, if we keep him. Might not though. Might draft a guard.

Pat and Shabazz could both be gone if we use our TPE to acquire a guard (Courtney Lee?), but it wouldn't make a difference in payroll.

    So that's $27M-$31M.

I propose sending #26, a 2019 1st, and Meyers to Atlanta for their #20 Pick to draft Hutchinson. That saves $9M.

So we add $18M to $22M (depending on if we keep Pat). That puts our payroll at $130M to $134M. That's not too bad.

    Lillard / Napier / Baldwin
    McCollum / Lillard / Connaughton?
    Harkless / Turner / Hutchinson
    Aminu / Collins / Swanigan
    Nurkic / Davis / Papagiannis

I can almost guarantee Pat Cannaughton will be a Blazer next year. With any luck at all Bazz will be also.
