The apologists keep making it like this is just a 1 time thing and the Blazers just had an off night

Are the top teams 3-13 vs the western conference playoff teams in 2014?

Sorry ladies, but this team hasn't proven much the past 3 months. There is absolutely reason to question them and point out their weaknesses.

The fanatics just hate hearing the reality of the situation

Though I agree with you, I do need to point out that Houston hasn't done that great against other top teams as well in 2014. By my count, 8-11 against ANY playoff contending team, 6-7 against West playoff teams. But man, the Rockets have had a relatively cake schedule pretty much for 2014. lol.

I can appreciate your attitude towards watching sports, but not sure where you feel the need to tell others how they should enjoy their sports. If I want to be serious about the Blazers, what is wrong with that?

I happen to be an very intense competitive person. When I play or watch sports, I do so with with emotion and passion. I enjoy spending my money and having my emotions ride on competitive sports. I understand that means after a game I can often be emotionally high or low. But this is what I enjoy and helps feed my competitive spirt.

I have no problem with people who don't take their sports seriously or are casual fans. Nothing wrong with that. But I would suggest everyone get what they want out of being a Blazer fan. For me, their is no proper way for a "true fan" to behave or what mental frame of mind they need to have watching a game.

Not trying to bag on your river hombre, just seen a lot of righteous people saying what a "true fan" is and how we should feel and act as Blazer fans.

Edit-BTW in the end it is not just a game with a ball and men in sports . . . it's a multi-billion dollar industry.

This is the silliest idea... Why the hell would we want a SF who can't dribble on the perimeter?

The continuous issues are the ones on Defense, that we have been seeing all season long. I don't care about the wins or losses, its the improvement of the team as a whole. Yeah we are better than last year and I love that, but if we are to be a contender this year, we have to stop doing what we do over and over on Defense, which is NOT working.

I am not exaggerating, or complaining because we lost. I've always said the same thing from the beginning of the year. I just am not that vocal about it on here because when we win I don't want to upset the apple cart ya know? When we lose there is much more level dialogue.

Riverman dont get me wrong, I love the blazers; but again I wanna see defense improvements through the year so we can get past the first round of play offs!

The pattern is crystal clear. We haven't won a single game - NOT A SINGLE GAME - when the opponent holds us to fewer points than them.

I agree with part of this but I think you're mistaking "Suggestion to some folks" with Telling people what to do? Yeah, it's a billion dollar industry but it's a billion dollar industry with a big ball and men in shorts putting it in a basket. It's just not the end of the world and my point is, enjoy the sport. I'm not talking about sports betting, make that clear here. And yes, some folks seem to take it way too seriously in my view. Doesn't make my view special, it's just my view

OK, I get it, just your view. Read it the first time as though you are telling people to relax and enjoy the sport.

My point is that there is nothing wrong with taking it seriously. I "enjoy" sports because of the intensity. Moral victories and watching it to enjoy the "skill of the game" is great for some, enjoying the thrill of victory and the agony defeat with your team is what others want.

I guess I would say don't misread passion for being too serious. Personally I invest a lot emotionally and finically (talking about tickets) in the Blazers. So I can appreciate passionate Blazer fans.. I also appreciate the fans that don't take it too seriously. This board has a nice balance of both, IMO.

May I suggest taking them more seriously, we are talking Blazer basketball after all. :)

sigh. typical bandwagon casual fans acting like the blazers EVER had a chance to win it all this year.

Bottom line is they didn't and never did. They can beat anyone on any night because they have the best PF in the league and streaky shooters. They play defense in spurts. but that doesn't allow you to win it all.
Don't look to next year, enjoy accomplishing your expectations for this year.
what were those again you ask? I'll remind you.
    making the playoffs
anything after that is a bonus. you don't like it? I'm sure the heat have room in their fan base.
