Denny will keep repeating "It doesn't say what you think it does" because he knows you're right. Don't spend too much time on his trolling.
To quote you: "weak sauce" Jesus christ. We live in a world where republicans will vote down their own bills bro... Should we put lying past them?
That's a fair response. It's still originally a conservative idea (as the Heritage Foundation is a conservative think tank). That doesn't mean you have to like it, of course.
Equating the Federal government requiring people to buy a product of any kind as on equal footing with States requiring people buy auto liability insurance is weak in the mind.
It was the reasoning put forth by the Heritage Foundation. That said, I think the reasoning mostly works, even if it's not exactly the same situation.
better reasoning-https://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2011/01/17/congress-passes-socialized-medicine-and-mandates-health-insurance-in-1798/#3c3cc7bc53ff 1798-signed by president john adams, a man who was familiar with the INTENT of the constitution. mandate requiring privately employed seamen to purchase health care insurance
It doesn't make it better or worse. It just makes it silly when Republicans claim it's a liberal take-over of health care or health insurance. A true liberal take-over of health care would look very different and, in mine and MarAzul's opinion, much better.
Who really cares who thought of what first. We should be focusing on how to make our president's campaign promise happen. Providing better healthcare for all Americans for less cost. Let's have that discussion since our politicians seem incapable. Better healthcare for all, for less money. Go!
I've asked this question already. Denny said something about a VA style plan of I remember correctly.
That's pretty vague. How would we pay for it? Would employers just pay into the government instead of purchasing health insurance for their employees?
national sales tax bares looking into. I liked it when you posted. devil is always in the details. a stock transaction fee too? let some hedge funds pay more. burden all but food? exclude gas?
VA style is too big, look at their issues now and increase usage 100 fold+ block grants to states or regions, would population# work or some other demographic for poor rural older areas?
Kaisers healthier lifestyle/choices seems to really work. integrated access to farmers markets at there clinics here in Hawaii has been a hit. its a win win as their costs have actually been going down. 'course obesity and its partner diabetes historically a cultural problem here. simple changes like switching from the staple white rice to brown has had huge health benefits.
