Especially since he was really good last year. Usually a good glove is a good glove. Then like you said even this year he makes some great plays and other times he looks like he has never played third before. Like somebody yells at him when ball comes. You're too low damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...^^^ yeah, and I've noticed that he seems to have become very mechanical or robot-like on his throws to 1B...whatever works I guess.
Why the hell was Betances (and McCann) getting cute with Aybar when he had him 0-2 leading off the 9th with a two run lead? First challenge him with a couple of fastballs up in the strike zone....then try and break off a curveball if he was still "alive". They were pitching to a hitter with little power as if he were a dangerous power hitter and it was a ONE RUN game. Jeez.... And I saw Girardi's reaction as Betances was falling behind 3-2 after being ahead in the count 0-2....what the fuk was McCann thinking? Curveball, curveball, curveball..... Just go right after him with fastballs letter high.....NOT waist high. All's well that ends well. We win, go 3-4 on the road trip vs a couple of pretty good teams.....good enough for now.
Another strange Baseball gig, Cleveland was getting their butts handed to them then they show up in Tampa and get three well pitched games out of nowhere. Be nice if Cleveland takes them out tomorrow as well. Did not watch this game, got a new musical toy today, hooked it into my system and it tested well. Much more fun playing and singing than to watch this Yankee team. In reading the box scores and recap looks like Eovaldi squeaked by again. I have the same opinion as others on Shreve, man does his job well every time out.
Yanks finish 9-11 in the 20 games in 20 days stretch (June 12- July 1) I figured if they could at least play .500 or slightly better they would come out of if probably in first place. Not quite- they are now a half game out of first place and if they had gone .500 in these 20 days/games they WOULD now be in first place. Oh well.....a half game out of first place after action on July 1 isn't the end of the world. GO YANKS!
(Yankees @ Marlins 6/15/15 7:10PM) Yep, I believe this the beginning of a crucial part of the scheduled and the Yanks can find themselves below .500 on July 2 but the timely return of their best all around player (Ellsbury) should give the team a boost and help the offense. And of course the Yanks are capable of making a deal to help the club. I won't bet on it but, if the Yanks can play above .500 ball during this stretch, they should still be at, or very close to first place on July 2. And that ain't bad. blgridesagain, Jun 16, 2015 _____________________ Okay, give or take a game or two. Lol Actually, if the Yanks DID play just .500 ball over this past stretch of 20 games in 20 days, they would be in first place by a game and a half. Nobody's perfect! Some of you may remember saying it wasn't such a big deal expecting the Yanks to play over .500 ball for this stretch......remember? No Miller for this period?....piece of cake...no problem.... Lol
You are aware of the date when I made that post? (June 16).....and I know the season isn't yet half over....and I'm not the one who constantly dredges up negatives with hardly a positive note in sight and I am not one of those fans who keeps telling everyone the sky is falling......BEFORE the season is half over....especially for a team which is currently very much alive in a division race for 1st place. But I did believe,...this past 20 game/20 day schedule could've been very harmful for the Yanks W-L record as July arrived. They came out of it in very decent shape, standings wise. Half game out of first place, could've been better...and it could've also sunk this team's W-L below .500.
