Yep, that's what made this Series a enjoyable nail biter, either way the dominos could of fell either way, for either Team to Sweep.......those Astro's are up and coming, no doubt there.....

Like so many decades past, when Texas would lead the AL West; at the half, or a bit after the A.S. game, then lose up to double digit leads, and fall behind usually to Anaheim or Oakland......especially when Bobby Valentine Managed Texas from 85 to 92..........Texas always faded out of the picture.....each year, it became routine

I don't foresee the Stro's losing their lead, even tho' the AL West is split b/t 4-9 games from 2nd to worst.....I don't think they'll do a Bobby Valentine sequel.....

I listened to those Colt 45s, when I was a kid living in Shreveport/Bossier City, Luzianna, on the old transistor radio, with the 1 ear plug, after "lights out" for us kids...

Those were some fun times, Jimmy Wynn and Joe Morgan were the 45s, pretty much, plus they brought in some good old timers, like:
    Don Larsen in 65;
in 63 Rusty Staub was a 19 yr old kid,
Grote was 20 yrs old, in 64
the 45s picked up: Turk Farrell, Nellie Fox at 36 yrs of age,
Larry Dierker was only 17 yrs old when he pitched in 3 games in 64,
Mike Cuellar came from Houston; before he was traded to the O's, when he was 1 of 4 to win 20 games a yr....

Same pocket radio, I listened to Houton's Command Control, for Mercury, Gemini, then Apollo Launches,

Same radio, that brought me, KC A's games in b/t moving back n forth b/t Wichita and Shreveport.......

The A's in KC, had some great players as we all know, when they finally put all the pieces together......even then, KC was more a Yankees under the table affiliate moreso in earlier years, ie: obtaining player after player, ala Roger Maris et al.

Honestly, as much as I despise Boston, I'd enjoy like hell watching either or Dustin or Jose playing in pinstripes. Only Q is, who plays 2nd, and can the other play SS....?

Now if it were Shrek, I'd hire an assassin/sniper, at Trashman 1st, Hank next, then Shrek........(for allowing such to happen), and Shrek for Blasphemy in even stepping into the Clubhouse, let alone wearing the Pinstripes.......an act of National Treason; by all 3 persons.... :grim: ........? :bgrin:

Well here's my take on it, mine was a legitimate question & complaint regarding Girardi'd decision to put Jones in LF. Hell I'd even feel safe to say that several others had wondered the same thing which is why (I'm guessing here) no one argued my point. You on the other hand rip Girardi for things that he has absolutely nothing to do with. Like last week with Teixeira's 3rd base running blunder.

My questioning of several of Girardi's moves are based on his direct involvement of a play. Where your complaints are based on just deep seated blind hatred. JMO. I could be wrong.........

...that's about the size of it...but sadly he doesn't think there's a difference.

He could've just as easily fucked it up in right field so to that point I really don't see the difference. It was a horrible error that lead to a run. That being said I can see the questioning of the positioning in that why swap Young and Jones? I don't recall anyone asking Girardi.

^^^this is true...and it's always easy to second guess...but the play between Gardner and Jones had nothing to do with the outcome...I mean, 2 hits?

Yup, things are emotional at the time they happen but at the end of the day the offense mailed it in and they didn't deserve to win.

Well that miscue in the outfield led to one run & Didi's poor decision making led to another. But yeah the offense went on vacation.

...Jones simply isn't very good at anything, defense or offense, but it's not not like he is a complete stranger to LF...he and Gardner simply miscommunicated...plus, that weird ass field in Houston probably didn't help either.

...lol...that field is quirkier than Fenway. I've seen some very good OFers look silly trying to negotiate that bump.

they should of put the CF wall in front of that stupid uphill incline......

It stands no purpose other than to fk with fielders; and/or a easy way to pull a hammie. The Wall in front of the shitpile, its 435 Feet to the wall as it stands, so why not bring the Wall in to 400 ft....??? Build their own Monument back behind CF, and remove the shitpile period.....

The screwy field in LF is just as worse, for LF'rs, with the wall that goes from a very shallow 315 ft, with a 25 ft wall, then the sudden wall goes back back to 362 feet. How's anyone supposed to cover a short porch, having to play shallow, but must be able to run like hell to cover the sudden pinball wall in/of the LF-CF gap.....

Both the Owner and Building Contractor CEO agreed to a flawed fk up design, over an afternoon of drinks, then signed a Contract, to drunk to know how they screwed up with the design, and its Financial "Enron" Backers.......

Websters definition of COACH: To instruct or train athletes.

INSTRUCT! as in what the 3rd base coach should have done with Teixeira regarding his 3rd base blunder. AGAIN! this was not on Girardi. WOW!!!!
