ano what does girardi getting tossed last nite have to do with anything. he gets a fine, wow! anyway, the 2 strikes called on gardner were horshite calls, u can't argue them i get that, but he had every right to come out there to get his player away from ump, obviously the ump gave gardner some slack cause he could have easily tossed him for questioning , so why not get in a few, that changed the whole inning! this game has just as much meaning or more then last nite
The call sucked. I just don't see the purpose of coming out and getting tossed there. I get that you spend the night looking to connect everything to Girardi regardless of what's going on. Have fun with that. I'm done and the loses are annoying enough without this monotonous bullshit.
first off, once again, i make no personal attack on anyone here for what they believe is wrong, but yet again for some reason you start with the attacks, for what purpose? what is the strategy here for the yanks, the long ball? the jays are probably leading the league in homers, do you see every player 1-9 going for fences, or do you see situational hitting during game, even with lead? i'm going by my gut instincts here, and everything leads me to believe that girardi is more concerned about what his players think of him then he is of holding them accountable for not getting it done. once again, 2 biggest factors in winning a game , coaches strategy, and players execution, and all i see is this team/coach relying on the long ball, and hows that working out? where's the situational hitting, we got guys with wheels, but NO running game... we got 4 very competitive pitchers who can't get passed the 6th inning. am i making this stuff up?
Unfortunately Vic if he expects to play next season he's going to have to learn another position because Teixeira will be back at first.
I'm not attacking you. I'm simply disagreeing with you and also pointing out that repeating the same exact thing over and over on a message board serves no purpose. Also, you consistently overrate the Yankees roster and comparing them to a team that has scored over 100 runs more is silly. Toronto has the probable AL MVP and two of the more dangerous hitters in the AL in their lineup in Bautista and Encarnacion. The Yankees are what they are. This is not some underachieving juggernaut since they will likely end up above the win total anybody had them at before the season.
you can disagree that's your right, but give me something substantial instead of trying to encite the board with something personal, or saying something ridiculous. With all due respect, its not like the jays are wipin the floor with the yanks, yanks could have easily won some more.... 82 games played on that surface, in that stadium, #'s are jacked, what's the jays home and road record?
Good points Vic, the Yankees are probably going to end up with around 90 wins this year which will be approx 5-6 more wins than anyone projected. With there inconsistant offense & pitching they very well could be the weakest team going into the post season.
Pasta, I'm getting what you're driving at. But I don't think Joe has the sparky gene, however I agree he's got to be demonstrably "all-in" from here on out. The stoic Torre like zen thing isn't working. Being more stark raving lunatic isn't going to really hurt here. There's just no sense of urgency.
89 is not 90. And how exactly are they gonna go 7-6 with the state of the rotation, pen and this offense?
Lets not nit pick now. If we're going to you said how are they getting close to 90 wins so it's arbitrary as to what somebody would consider close to 90. That being said they're 5-3 in their last 8 so I don't think 8-5 the rest of the way would be terribly outlandish.
I did say, "The Yankees are probably going to end with AROUND 90 wins" 89 would constitute as being AROUND 90 wins.
...win total is meaningless...this is the Yanx not the Padres...anything less than a WS Title is failure.
