i have said this before , and i will say it again, it does not matter the level of a player, they still need guidance.. i feel girardi thinks he is still one of the guys, he is not, he is THE BOSS, and he has to hold these guys accountable, he cannot worry about hurting a players feelings, he has to stop babying these guys, days off fine, but not 1 after you been on the DL for 2 months, played 3 in a row does it warrant time off. girardi just needs to toughen up, grow a set! that's is all. he has his team in the PS, someone is doing something right, but it can be better!
^^^ "...it does not matter the level of a player..." ...yes, because what really separates the good teams from the bad teams is their coach, not their players...check. ...after premising an opinion with something as inane as that, anything subsequently said after that has no credibility...including the pompous assumption than any of us have any real knowledge of what really goes on behind the scenes of the Yankees' roster, the actual health of it's players, and the running of a team. ...and when did Girardi go from being merely "an overpaid baby sitter".... To assert that players like Gardner and Arod have died out this season because Girardi is not motivating them properly is such an idiotic argument it wouldn't even be worth discussing. What about another veteran in Ellsbury? Girardi hasn't held his hand enough so he's having the most abysmal season of his career? I mean it's getting laughable that this is being viewed as some kind of little league team. The roster clearly wasn't good enough and they did nothing to improve it. That's all there is to it. We already know that for a big portion of the season the offense was being carried by Tex and Arod. One was lost for the year and the other at 40 years old naturally faded. Bird has been a nice surprise but they have nobody else of any consistency to help this lineup.
Credibility is what I do have Whether you choose to believe it or not, and as far as knowing what goes on behind the scenes, I ate , drank , played , slept with, not sexually of course , I know where some of you will go with that statement, with players in the hall ! Had coaches that made it to the show, I don't know what goes on behind the scenes? How thick headed can one be?
...hell yeah it counts...considering our extensive experience, me and rigatoni would make better coaches, but hell Rick, you're GM material !
