..and I'm perplexed why you of all people don't get what my argument really is...because I've been very clear on what it was and have pointed it out multiple times. The issue is not just that the Yanx fired a couple of measly coaches. The problem is that it's not nearly enough. And you're focussed strictly on Long...but what about Kelleher?...what was his crime?
...they fired them without addressing the much bigger problem...Cashman. They not only didn't fire Brian, but instead, they somehow rewarded him a new contract which gives him 3 more years to undo what he himself has already fucked up. Again, THAT is the problem I have.
...I've asked SEVERAL times; "What would have a bigger impact on this franchise's future, replacing Cashman, or replacing 2 insignificant coaches"?...I've received no answer. Do you or anyone else really think that this team has now made itself better than it was a month ago?

...whoever his hired to be the new coaches won't make this franchise a great one, anymore than Long and Kelleher made it a poor one.

...lmao...take a look at the rosters of the early 90's Yanx vs '96-2000...are you seriously trying to credit Chambliss for that?...please.

...those teams were great in spite of Chambliss, not because of him...pretty much just like any other hitting coach.

...it also doesn't explain why Chambliss was hired and fired as hitting coach so many times...he was not able to turn the Reds, Cards, Mariners, and Mets into offensive juggernauts...I wonder why?

And again...the Steinbrenners made a different decision tree than you. Accept it. They believe they can course correct and get back on track with the pitching they have in place. That's pretty fucking obvious. Your suggestion is to basically blow up the team and party like its the 80's....because getting rid of Cashman's and Girardi, etc would lead to a total reorg/rebuild. FO isn't there yet. So why keep whining about it? I get you want to be right...but if you are it won't be apparent until next 1-2 years. Bookmark this shit, move on and we'll put your prize cheetos in the vault of vindication.

umm....uh...ahem....don't spread it around but, if the Yankees/BATTERS would've scored a couple of more runs here and there,(especially in that late August stretch where they lost 10 games as they scored 2 or less runs in each loss) they would've won a few more games and qualified for a WC spot.

Bottom line remains---> The offense/lineup/BATTERS were thee main reason why the Yanks couldn't/didn't win a couple/few more games and get a ticket to the post-season.

...that's the biggest pile of BS I've read in awhile. I don't have to "accept" anything, that's what message boards are for...but using your logic, I should bow down and accept whatever management/ownership says...sorry pal, that ain't gonna happen. I'll voice my opinion as I see fit...don't like it?...tough shit.

...and when did I say I wanted to "blow up the team"...that's also BS, and you know it. And I also never said I wanted Girardi fired...but you knew that too, didn't you?

...you can also take tour "you want to be right" comment and stick it in your ear...and while you're at it, show where I'm wrong.

...and now according to you, voicing my opinion is tantamount to "whining"?...translation; You're "whining" about "whining", right?... again, don't like what I post, I don't really care. I'm not here for validation, so hit the "back" button... or ignore it...or to use your term, "accept it".

Tex had a horrible year - Beltran struggled from early on with the elbow issue -

Can we agree on this? If so...let me move on.

If...if....Tex' wrist was an issue and he wasn't complaining (remember, the Docs said it could take a full year AFTER surgery to bounce back), and if ..if..he could've produced 20 or so more runs/RBI ...and...Beltran wasn't battling through his elbow problem.....

The Yanks would've PROBABLY scored enough more runs to win a few more games and get a chance to BEAT (?) KC or Oak in the WC game and move on.

Then....it's a crapshoot and are we BASHING Cashman so much if the Yanks moved onto the LDS?
Think about it.....read this post over if you need to..and ask yourself, was Tex and Beltran's 2014 season Cashman's fault? Are we intelligent AND fair? Are YOU listening?

Actually, I would've preferred to keep Grandy (younger than Beltran w/a swing made for YS) and not go after Beltran.
But Beltran WAS coming off a pretty good year, being a switch-hitter he could also be a good part-time DH.
And Tex....c'mon now....most of "us" were kinda excited when Cash signed him (2009) and he did help us have an absolutely GREAT WS team.
A big time (at that point) switch hitting 1B/slugger hitter.

And while I admit he was horsesh!t this year and very disappointing last year...
...maybe he can bounce back after a full year playing through serious wrist surgery.
Lets see what he has left in 2015/2016...looks like we have no choice.

...Grandy?...meh, he wanted a longer term contract than the Yanx were willing to give. (he declined the QO made by the Yanx)

...I was OK with signing Beltran, but for 3 freaking years?

...and yes, I was also for signing Tex back then, but look at him now. I'm starting to think like messiah, Tex's decline makes me rethink as to whether he's a former PED user or not...anything's possible.
...He's no longer hammering FBs and hanging breaking balls like he used to on a regular basis. And when he's batting LHed he still stubbornly tries to pull an outside pitch through the shift when he could easily hit/slap the ball to the opposite side of the field. This would not only give the Yanx essentially a free runner on 1B, it also saves them an almost sure out...think about that for a second and what it would mean for this team's offense. But at this point, the only good thing you can say about Tex is defense makes the whole infield better defensively.

...but this all comes full circle when we realize that ultimately, Cashman should be held accountable for the roster decisions/moves, and the Steins should be held accountable for the GMs decisions/moves.

Yep - Tex is not the brightest bulb.
Just hitting a routine ground ball towards 3b/ss every other game or so (against the shift) would've made a considerable difference in his BA/OBP and improved the Yankees' run production.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was a roider. I still believe there's a fair chance he can bounce back with respectable numbers next year.

...yeah, and I've got no problem with the power guys looking for a certain pitch to hammer early in the count...but hey, once they are in a 2 strike count, take what the defense gives you and go the other way.
