Do you think we have a chance of getting Santana?

Don't think so. Not with Theo. I hope he just plays through his contract, and the Yankees forfeit 2 picks for him.

Roche has supposedly confirmed this. It was a different Boston station that last night reported the Braves, Cards, Angels and Yankees had all offered deal worth $55 million-$60 million. That news seemed bogus at the time and still appears this way. However, it is possible that the Yankees are in that territory. If they're going to go that far to land Lowell, Mariano Rivera has a better case for receiving a four-year deal. The Red Sox are still offering Lowell three years. The Phillies continue to deny reports that they're going to be involved, so this may prove to be a two-team race.

Well seeing as they're going to be losing their CF (probably) and we have a young stud in Ellsbury and plus we'd be able to compensate them with Bucholtz, I can'ts see why not.

Where do think they'll stick Giami? DH? Or is he a free agent?

Ellsbury's gonna be sick. I'll stick any other prospect ina Santana dealbesides him (i know i'llget heat for that). As for the infield situation (assuming Lowell leaves), leave Youk at first base, he's a gold glover there, don't solve one problem by creating another.

While I still resent the fact A-Rod went to the MFY, I can't see any cons that don't have an equal pro in bringing in the back-to-back MVP onto the team. I don't believe that a player is the reason why a team can't win a World Series. Sure, A-Rod can be an ego maniac, but is Manny really any different? He rarely runs out ground balls and is back and forth on whether or not he wants to be a Red Sox (Red Sock?) keeping the clubhouse in termoil. But again, don't get me wrong, I love Man-Ram.

The major difference is that Manny hits in the postseason.

$18million bench player. Matsui will probably be the DH, with Damon if left.

Without Lowell, the Sox still have a lot of options. Youks can play either first or third, Miggy's on the market, the Orioles may trade Tejada, etc. If the Red Sox can end up with either Miggy, Johan Santana, or Dan Haren for Ellsbury and Buchholz, all will be right with the world.

Just realised, Yanks won't sign Lowell. You can only sign 3 Type A or B free Agents a year. Arod and JoPo are already back, and I think rivera will come back too. That's 3.
