Yanks are scoring runs. They're averaging over 4 runs per game on the road.....could be better but we want them to take advantage of their home park They'll get their chances to get on a consistent roll playing home games. Yanks have had a rather rough schedule for the first month 1/2 or so.
Seattle, spent a year there one week, hated that place. The Mariners are a team I love to hate, the 2001 ALCS carries great memories. But today I was glad to see Tank do well and the 240 million dollar man was 0'4 today. Freaking out over Jones, must have had corn flakes for his breakfast. Was surprised to see Crapuano out there, could he be the odd man out of the rotation or will it be brown sugar CC. Looking forward to a successful return by Nova. Enjoy those steak dinners on the way back to the Bronx!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, Jones- hit to HRs to basically win the last two games of this trip to help Yanks go 4-3 for the trip. Not bad....he can do some damage especially at YS and this rotation will look much better with Tanaka and NOVA pitching well.
That Flores kid, don't know if it's beginner luck or what but he's made some damn nice plays out there in left. Nice to see a kid get out there and succeed !!!!!!!!!!
I'll go out on a limb and say he IS a good defensive asset in LF and if he can slap a few hits here and there .....he could/would/should be considered to be a very decent 4th outfielder. Who knows what type of hitter he can really be unless he's force-fed to play at least most of a full season. I think the kid can get his decent fair share of hits but with little power. He's ALREADY helped the Yanks in his very short playing time.
...hell yeah...all things considered, it was a good road trip. ...Tanaka looked VERY good...velo and command were there, and of course "Mr. Splitty" was unhittable. ...I don't think anyone could have realistically foreseen the surprising production from both Tex and ARod...but we still need to address the SS/2B situation because it is an obvious achilles' heel offensively....... DiDi shows occasional flashes of brilliance in the field and is making better contact at bat................ Drew?...sorry, but I just don't see him getting much better, if at all.
...Flores has been good in the field and bad at the plate...he's not a viable corner "4th" OFer...as soon as Ellsbury returns, Flores name will be forgotten.
Right now I'm just hoping that McCann is not going to be out for any long period of time because the last thing we need in this order is another mendoza line hitter. Especially one with no power.
same here, just when McCann was heating up to, and seemed to of found His groove. Hope any layoff isn't long. Keep in mind he did come in late in the game last night, and obtained a key Hit......!
Yep, I know Young is the 4th outfielder and can play all three positions and Heathcott is above Flores on the depth chart. Of course Flores gets sent down once Ellsbury returns. Just sayin' we'll probably never find out (with the Yanks) what kind of hitter he can or cannot be unless he gets to play a large part of a season .... which I don't see happening unless the Yanks' outfield gets injury riddled this year. Heathcott is the player I want to find out about (hitting) but he just has problems staying healthy. Young is signed for this year and chances are he will be gone from the organization when the season ends.
I'd leave Judge alone where he is so he gets constant ABs. He's not going to get helped sitting on the bench. He's not a guy I would bring up right now.
Hear Ye, Here Ye, The Court's in session, The Court's in session, Now here comes the Judge, Now here comes the Judge. If Judge splashes in New York he's going to be a big kahuna for years to come.
. ...I was not talking about right now. But if/when he is called up as a RF replacement he probably wouldn't be sitting on the bench all that much.
I dont expect to see him until 2016 unless he gets red hot. He's not exactly setting AA on fire. 8 HRs in almost 200 ABs with 54 Ks. OPS is solid at .849, but I think they'd wanna see him sustain at the .900 level for a good period before promoting him to AAA.
