....^^^ Amen to that...... I wonder if the Team wakes up with an offensive hangover, after games like this one.....???
ah oh, other than that dreaded word: "The Plan", your infatuation with Drew is becoming evident.........
i did not real all posts, been in & out.. i agree 100% bout what you feel joe's position of how he is to use warren, and it is panning out.... compuano to be on the release wire in 24 hours
You know I'm only busting your chops, right Rick..... cuz, that is alot like calling myself a Shrek Fan...........NOT.......! Tho' yer right, even Drew can hit off of this Team......
imo, he happens to be right, i think we would all agree warren earned a spot in rotation , but thats not how it works in bigs. a tough decision had to be made no doubt, he is a reliver now, and that is his job, and thats how it works.
Frankly it's over and done with. They then scored 16 unanswered runs. I don't see the need to dwell on Crapuano.
No he's not (no surprise) Yes Warren is NOW a reliever but he was also a proven starter. Crapuano on the other hand is also a reliever who has NOT been effective as a starter. Its simple math. Did you really ever play this game?
DiDi must be batting .280(?) or so over his last 45 games. And earlier in the season we would've been "satisfied" (rightfully so) if he hit .235-.240 but I just keep in mind, this is his still hisndirst full season being an everyday starting SS......kinda exciting. 91 games doesn't make a season but the closest thing he had to a full season was 2013 when he had 357 AB, 103 G and put these numbers up: BA.252. OBP .332 SLG%.373 OPS.704 Not bad. He can go up or down with more playing time and experience but to me he looks like he just might get better. And I still expect him to hit with a bit more power. He's got size 6' 2", 200 lbs and doesn't get cheated in his swings. I really want to say, as premature as it may sound, I think the Yanks may have acquired a SS who could turn into one of the better young SS in the league in a year or two or possibly by the end of this season. Lol, I really feel uncomfortable making such bold expectations for a player who never had more than 357 ABs in a season but its a general feeling and instinct I get watching this kid play....and he has also significantly reduced his errors from the first couple of months. Funny, just as I'm completing this the announcer said Didi was hitting .206 in late May.
With his fourth hit of the night I know he's over .300 for the month of July. Hopefully can keep it going.
I don't think the Warren argument is terrible. If he had started tonight you lose him out of the pen for at least five days. You don't have to agree with it but that's the thought process.
Agree....Capuano was the designated sacrificial lamb so to speak......and actually, I hope Joe doesn't use Warren for more than one inn tonight with the current score. Finish up with anyone else not named Miller for the final two innings....but I guess nothing wrong with getting Warren some low pressure work (2 innings) in a blowout.
And IF the Yankees don't have this offensive explosion & lose this game it would have been because Joe put an un proven starter on the mound when he could have gone with a proven starter like Warren. As far as losing Warren for 5 days the bullpen is deep enough where it would have survived. JMO.
Just got in.....last I saw the score at the gym was 5-0....figured the Crapuano and Girardi lovefest was raging, lol! This is the kind of 9th inning ARod hits a solo shot in.
