...as far as leading off an inning, it all pretty much evens out over the course of 162 games...take Gardner for example, he's had 47 ABs this year as the leadoff batter...but he's had 136 total ABs this year leading off an inning. ... you can actually apply the same numbers for just about any batter... Drew, for example, has not been the leadoff hitter in any games this year, but he's actually had 91 ABs leading off an inning.
I brought this up a month or so back when idiot Cone said, "Ellsbury only leads off an inning once a game" which is not always true but yeah it all balances out. BTW: what do think of the switch in the rotation of Warren for Nova?
...not sure what Cone may have said and I know he likes to hear himself talk, but I think what he probably meant was the same thing I've said, which is that a leadoff hitter is the first batter of the game only once.
...I've said multiple times that Warren should have never been removed from the starting rotation in the first place...Cashman has a history of moving young arms back and forth and in the long run, it usually does not end up well.
Bird, that guy gets some distance on those bombs, Sevy with a nice comeback game. Hopefully we'll be cheering for those guys for years to come.
good win yanks..... did yanks start year off with 5 man rotation, who were they? i know nova went on DL in april and i assume warren replaced him, when nova came back am i correct in saying warren was taken off and put in pen? when serevino came up who did he replace?
