Wait, are you saying the entire Team was not wearing their Jewel supports, ya' know the Jock Straps, no wonder....???
And Adam Jones made a great running catch to prevent a big Yankee inning in their recent series lost in Baltimore. How anyone cannot be satisfied and encouraged by CC's performance last night is beyond me. Could it be some fans are just rooting against certain Yankee players so they can be proven "right" in their preseason predictions and evaluations? GO YANKS! every single one of them!
You need to get over the spring training stuff already. Nobody wants the Yankees to fail either. Yes, CC pitched a good game which was his first in what seems like the forever. The reality though is that he's 0-3.
CC last two starts - 15 IP, 14 H, 12K, 4BB, 1 HR, 3.60 ERA Not bad for a fat #3 starter.....but, how was his velocity? Just as I hoped/figured, good location with a 91 mph fastball along with his good breaking ball and changeup should be "good enough".
Last night he pitched good enough to win but his offense failed him. In his previous starts he did was he does all to often................ April 9th had the Yankees in a hole early 4-0 April 14th again had the Yankees in a hole 3-0 This team cannot expect to play catch up every time he takes the mound.
Do you ever get tired of nonsense? What were the numbers of his first two starts? He puts up a good one last night and now you want to do that three start third starter nonsense? In his first two starts in 12.2 innings he gave up 15 hits and 8 earned runs with an ERA over 6. No it's obviously not pretty good since he's now 0-3.
EXAMPLE: If the Yankees get shutout 3 games in a row & then score 16 runs in game 4 does that make everything is okay because they've averaged 4 RPG over there last 4?
...why do you keep bringing up thing that have nothing to do with the topic?...wtf does Adam Jones have to do with CC's performance last night? ...encouraged is one thing but the only way I'd be "satisfied" is if he had shut out the Tigers or if the Yanx had scored more runs and won the game instead of losing it. ...and your last comment is so utterly inane, I won't even respond to it.
...loling at the constant "silver lining" mentality....can't make this shit up. Well, actually, it appears that it can be made up.
and here I took for granted, I thought everyone knew: "Good is no longer Good Enough"....!!! a course in Life/MLB 101....! guess you didn't get the Memo???
and as well, fiction and reality are being compromised, where one looks like the other??? We all know the differences, with the exception of one or 2 on this board. 1 who's a fair weather fan, and thinks he knows more about MLB, (due to his experience, he thinks only he has had). The other, will I be eternally awaiting for one to awaken, to reality, in lieu of painting by numbers ????? Well, you mentioned CC was helped out by his defense including two DPs started by Headley....(which was part of Cashman's plan).......the Yanks and CC were hurt by good opposing defensive plays in Baltimore and poor defense by the Yanks in Toronto. That's baseball! Fair is fair. And let's be fair to CC, he's made three starts, the last two have gotten better..looks to me as if he's possibly/maybe beginning to find his groove.....no, I'm not expecting him to be "good" in every start but as I've said prior to ST...and you can look it up, lol, maybe he can provide or improve what Kuroda have us.
How can you compare a crafty elder veteran, with an ex-Cy Young caliber SP. Kuroda WAS the norm for any SP on any Team, not a #1 or 2 SP on any team, yet thrust into the #1 role, with Masahiro's DL, as well as Pineda's. Kuroda gave us, what any SP should, he was not exceptional, not bad either, rather just the norm, otherwise he would not of began the year as the Yanx #3-4 guy, and/or the Bums would not of let him leave L.A...........!!!
CC last two starts - 15 IP, 14 H, 12K, 4BB, 1 HR, 3.60 ERA He's made three starts, the first one was bad...he's still (I thought we all kinda agreed) making the adjustment to being less of a power pitcher not having his 95 mph fastball any more.....follow me so far? Okay, so after the first start he has pitched well in his next two starts....good enough to f give his team a chance to win.... AND SINCE WHEN all of a sudden everyone seems to be adding more value to a pitcher's W-L record than his actual effectiveness ERA/IP ect.....sure I want to see him get some WINS in the column - but really, seriously, the only way some of "us" would've been satisfied with last night's performance by CC is if he shut out the Tigers is just plain assinine. How many agree with that? I think I've landed on another planet. So I guess if CC was 3-0 and allowed 6 runs every game but the Yanks scored 9 runs every game giving him the "WIN", he would be GOOD. Beam me up Scotty.
...1...if you're gonna quote me, quote me accurately. ...2...since you've always resided there, you should be used to that "other planet" by now.
