With Beltran doing nothing I'm glad Young is making the most of things. Of all things Drew is homer or nothing.

    Drew hit a HR
    Eovaldi pitched well
    And the Yankees won

Should make for some interesting posts tomorrow.

    Let the games begin.

How long do we have to keep seeing Petit? Are we waiting until he's hitting .050?

I'm guessing as soon as Ryan comes off the DL Petit will be gone.

Glad to see this team get the win, credit Eovalsi, not dominant but hung in there against a good Detroit Team. Young, has been a positive since being added to this team last year, keep running him out there whenever possible. Glad to see this win after a disappointing loss last night.

I was hoping for a split in Tigerland. We are one win away from that goal.
I thought they'd be lucky to get 2 wins here. It's the pitching that has come to
    the forefront. Good to see.

Eovaldi got lucky with the GIDP the first 3 innings. Getting solid defense behind the starter has been a rare event this season thus far.

...yeah, it was a good win vs a good team...a lot more impressive beating the Tigers as opposed to the Rays.

...something I was surprised by a bit, one of the guys in the booth last night was talking about all of the DPs and said that as of last night it was first time the Yanx had turned 3 or more DPs in successive games since 1972.

I'm guessing it was O'Neill, I like him in the booth.

Actually the Yankees have played Detroit tough in the regular season. '12: 6-4, '13: 3-3, '14: 4-2. Wins against Detroit are mor impressive than those against the Rays however living in this area and being a Yankee Fan I like to see the Yankees kick their ass. Price tonight, tough guy but we have seen the Yankees whack him good at times, Warren, I'm concerned. I'd like to see the Yankees get a "serviceable" 2nd baseman, get rid of any combination of Gregorius, Ryan, Petit. Keep putting Young out there as well.

Tampa has been a house of horrors for the Yanks for the past few years...and those Rays teams were never loaded with a lot of big time talent.
They had the pitching, and Longoria and Pena would always seem to hurt them with the usual "nobodies" chipping in.

They still have Longoria but Loney was hurt.
That guy has become an absolute Yankee killer.

Longoria should have been shown some "chin music" on more than one occasion. Still hate it when I see that video of game 162 2011 when the Yankees blew a 7-0 lead. When the Rays won that 2008 Pennant listening to all the "new" Tampa Bay Fans you'd have thought that Tampa Bay had 26 World Championships. Still remember Mo being escorted off of the Field by Jeter and Pettitte and in the midst of an ass kicking in their own park. Yep, I hate the God Damn Rays and my second favorite team is the one kicking the Rays asses. Did note that after this past series that Pineda has the handle on how to pitch to "Longo" Pass it on to the rest of the staff.

2-2 in a four game set in Detroit would be just fine.
