And the Tigers got lucky in the first game when Ellsbury hit a hard ground ball to 2b in the 8th inning, one out, with runners on 1st and 3rd with Detroit leading 2-1 for an inning ending DP. If the ball was a couple more feet in either direction it would've a 2-2 game with Yankee runners on 1st and 3rd one out.......luck? Luck? Final score Tigers 2 Yanks 1 Play ball, and make the PLAYS when you get your chance! Sometimes a pitcher can help induce a DP by throwing a low downward moving pitch. But we all know this....don't we? Eovaldi did a good job of keeping his breaking ball down in the zone.
Especially when Detroit was an absolute juggernaut when the Yanks were coming in. A shame the offense couldn't give CC 2 runs.
Yep, so far the Tiger juggernaut has scored 4 runs in two games.....but don't hold your breath, two more games to go with Warren pitching one of them. Lol I think Warren could be pitching for his spot in the rotation, Girardi won't and shouldn't hesitate to remove him and put Rogers in the 5th spot.
Last time the Yankees faced Price in Detroit they whacked him pretty hard. I heard Price state on more than one occasion state he'd never be a Yankee because he doesn't like the Teams policy on haircuts and beards.
...yeah, recently the Yanx have fared fairly well vs Price...he hasn't pitched badly but it just seems that the Yanx' pitching pitched as well as he did.
