Cashman's already stated he's not interested in giving up that draft pick for Jansen, I don't blame him. Honestly, Jansen being a bum, a local bum, isn't bad, but he's never going to be nothing near a Mo', or even imho, the guy we need as a Closer. Jansen's blown to many games, too many times in previous years, he's not always been a blow away type of Closer..... after watching too many bums games these past years, much less after Donnie fled the Tinsel Town nuthouse. Jansen isn't one I'd like to see come to the Bronx, the Zoo would probably intimidate him, eg Ed Whitson, .....(on and on)~ !
Takeaways from Cashmans interview on MLB Network: 1. Yanks in hot pursuit of Chapman. 2. Gardner likely to be traded. 3. Not comfortable trading away Top Prospects as per Bronx Bomber Beat.
I am all for them trading Gardner I am curious to see what he would actually bring back in trade. Really don't want to see them go five or six years and $100 million on Chapman. Glad he doesn't want to trade the top prospects but hopefully he doesn't fall too much in love with them that has happened before any Yankee land.
Blue Jays President Mark Shapiro said that the Team re-signing Edwin Encarnacion is "improbable" as per Jon Morosi.
yep, read they're not going to double his salary of last yr. With Beltran's 16 mil, 13 mil for Holliday (pending physical), Napoli made 7 mil last yr., (another 3 mil in incentives). Encarnacion's 4 yrs at 80$ mil, looks more and more ridiculous. Seem's b/t the Winter Meetings and CBA agreement, is taking on the tones of some financial responsibility, for the runaway train created with those 10 yr gluttonous contracts. Harper, Trout, maybe Kershaw, and others to come, will be interesting to see IF or when we see the first 40 Million Dollar $Man$
Rumor at winter meetings this morning is Yankees and nationals are close to a trade involving Gio Gonzalez. I will try and post the link soon. https://www.nysportsday.com/2016/12/06/source-gio-gonzalez-to-yankees-is-closing-in/
...^^^unfucking believable...don't they ever learn? ...if that report is true I would not be surprised if this is simply a knee-jerk reaction to the Red Sox acquiring Sale.
I know Ron, they never learn. As far as the source I don't know much about this website, read it on Twitter.
According to Bryan Hoch: The Yankees have made contract offers to both Aroldis Chapman and Kenley Jansen.
