    That "Old Cockroach" Gardner, gets a single in the bottom of the 9th, representing the tying run.

    Gio comes to the plate representing the winning run.

    Gio ends the game striking out how do you boil down in the dirt.
    I will file this game in the book says well you can't win them all".
    Urshela has done more than his share to win ballgames.

    I am entertaining the thought in my head the 36-year old Gardner just might be worth giving one more year????
    Make him the captain while you're at it.
    Gardner has done his share to earn such a hallowed title and position in my opinion.

    On this team Gardner is the epitome of a leader for the youngsters. Something no other salty veteran on this team has stepped up to do other than LeMahieu. And he's not a salty veteran really imo...

    Back in '08 I was watching a televised Yankees Red Sox game with Gardner getting a GWRBI against Papelbon. Bringing Gardner back on a one year deal in '20 would be akin to the Matt Holiday signing in '17.
