For my sanity I'm hoping the New York Rangers play into June.

What I can't accept is the decision made with Tanaka. Unless the player vetoed TJ surgery then why would we treat an investment like that. Trying to become the next Mike Mussina is a joke when if they decided last July to move ahead with TJ, we would be moving toward the youth movement that we hope we have in the minors along with by then would be a 27 year old ace.

Good job but anything can happen in the playoffs. It's a long grind.

I completely agree. We're not doctors of course but I really don't understand the course they took with this tear.

TJ was not the preferred medical treatment for a partial tear. PET should have been done every 6 weeks or so over the off season following by a strength and conditioning regimen. What the doc's and pt folks can't do is condition him mentally. Obviously he's unsure of it and thus the reinvention of his pitching wasn't smokescreen.

Its just one start and then just one Hughesian inning.

^^^ Tote is right. Afterall, it was only a "10%" UCL tear and the decision the Yanx made on Tanaka was based on the recommendations of multiple Doctors who all agreed that all things considered, rehab was the best course of action.

I'm not sure yet Beltran and Tex are washed up.
If they aren't, they shouldn't put up embarrassing numbers.
They most definitely can go down with injuries but if they do, it'll probably be YoungRF and Jones1b.

The only way - imo - we see Judge and Bird is if both Beltran,Tex are faltering big time for a couple of months and look to be obviously "washed up", or suffer long term or season ending injuries.... then I could see the Yanks making the move.

The first move could be moving Beltran to primary or part time DH duty.
Arod - as we all know - could break down and it wouldn't be a bad idea to get Beltran off the field to eliminate wear and tear on his (andArod's) legs and try to maximize his hitting.

Beltran looked sluggish/slow to me in RF yesterday....and it was the FIRST game.
I would be kinda concerned if I were the Yanks.....and I do have good eyesight. Lol
