Layne go fuck yourself you double jointed coke bottle, what a sorry display of relief you showed, just sorry!
...From what I've read and heard, Matt Holliday has been instrumental in helping form this team into a cohesive unit...they genuinely like each other. ...fun to watch...to move to the next level however, will depend on the starting pitching...IMO, they need to add another quality arm.
I supported the Holliday signing from day one, you knew the man had game, class, leadership plus intangibles not known but to team members. We all lamented the "new " stadium relocation taking away the "ghosts". We may now be seeing a new cadre being developed that will prompt memories of excellent baseball traditions for this franchise.
...^^^they were wrong to change the physical location of Yankee Stadium to where it is now...it was "hallowed ground".
Steinbrenner always talked tradition and I remember him looking in Jersey for a potential stadium. And yes the old stadium was hallowed ground but move it they did. Scary when one thinks about it but there are more Yankee "Ghosts" in Wrigley and Fenway than in the current stadium. The original '23 and '76 upgrade was christened with League & Series Champs. The '09 model was christened in the correct was as well but only Derek Jeter created any hallowed ground thinking of his accomplishments. The new group in will only add to that if above field level management doesn't screw it up.
