1- There's that dirty word again.....as Rick would say: "that's profiling"...! :devilwink:

2- 'Goober' is fitting; so would be: Gomer, Abner or Homer, and yep, a Skid Row gang bangers fashion statement, gone bad........:bgrin:

I just don't get why its even allowed. I mean I know its not the military but hell I would still think that you would wear your uniform with a little pride. Just straighten your hat out, what's the problem?

Pineda and Rodney are far from being "goobers".
Back in the day......it was called "jive ass bullsh!t".

And those who practiced their "jive ass bullsh!t" knew it was "jive ass bullsh!t"....
And we're dam proud of it. lol

Reading the Game Recap there was mention of Joe giving CC a pep talk before he went out there today, wish I could have been a fly on the wall and overheard that conversation.

Oh really? Is that part of the description for a southern hillbilly being called a "goober".
"Goober" could be, and usually is a state of mind....possibly includes being just a bit short in the ability to think and handle a couple of different things at the same time and needing extra time and help reading between the lines which were already covered and understood by the average "smartass" big city boy.

Of course, obviously, there are stupid and smart people from all over our great Nation.

And as far as wearing a tilted cap....where does the words "jaunty" and "city slicker" fit into the equation? Did FDR occasionally wear a "tilted" hat?

Know who looks like a "goober" to ME?
These 20something year old white guys with ridiculous looking "Smith Brothers" beards.
Some of these "Smith Brothers" beard guys can easily be "profiled" as country boys, outdoorsmen, hunting, wilderness types who like to drive tractors and aren't very good on the disco/night club dance floor.

And personally speaking I do NOT like this accepted open season on "rednecks" by comedians and social commentators.......I think it's disgusting and gutless as we all know there are quite a few other "stereotypical" aspects and behaviorial ways of other people and areas of the country which are treated like sacred cows.

There is good and bad all over which does contribute or create stereotypes both in a positive and negative fashion.

    What's the "HOLY SHIT" about?
Did you just land here from another planet?

Get straight and cut the crap.

IMO, here's a couple of guys who look like plain old "jerkoffs" who think they're "cool".
....and of course I know I am quite entitled to MY OPINION, so save your energy and just pass on it.

I think I may be the only one that doesn't have you on IGNORE..............................................................................................................yet.

You turned the word GOOBER into a federal case when you knew EXACTLY what Rob & I both were talking about.

One of the (few :) ) things I've respected from the Yankees over the years is the dress/grooming code. You want to play for us? Name on the front matters more than the number on the back. Shave the beard. Cut your hair, Johnny Damon. Etc.

Montero hasn't been a C since the first year he played for us. Even when he was originally sent back to AAA they told him to start learning 1B, and iirc all of his ABs have been as a DH. That experiment got shut down early in his M's time.

No, I was serious, so thanks for the info. Over here in AFG I don't get to study other teams' box scores much. That's kind of a welcome surprise, no?

Rick, no offense....but I really don't give a ah!t because I'm getting pretty close to ignoring the whole board with the exception of one or two....but I'll probably hang around just to help enhance and add some much needed juice and credibility to this moribund boring predictable ( not all) bunch of crybabies who populate this board and instead of just passing up or reserving comment on my posts which THEY disagree with, THEY are the ones who try and make huge issues of it.

The usual two or three posters who actually try and portray me as knowing less about the Yankees and baseball but have in reality begun to realize as this season moves along that I am being proven "correct" and more accurate than they are and they just can't handle it...lol........Plenty of times, too many times I have heard the usual one or two posters telling me- "you're wrong again"....."again you don't know what you're talking about"....."You never learn do you"?
I won't even get into the personal vulgar insults with profanity.
It's understandable as one begins to realize he's "losing" the debate...lol

Here's a very recent example of why I might just leave this crap and wave bye bye to some of your fellow "smart Yankee posters".....this was in THIS thread....and to be honest, it sometimes really feels beneath me addressing some of these comments.

    Totus (post 12)
"Hey cash.....remember those guys Montero and Jackson"?

Obviously he was upset because Montero got two hits and Jackson had the RBI single.
And he was ready to pin the loss on Cashman, like a good little Cashman basher..lmao

So of course I owed a good response for the sake of sane, rational Yankee/baseball fans and maybe I also offered some info and facts which he needed to know as a "smart Yankee poster".

And here was my reply to this ridiculous garbage:.....and it's funny how an assinine comment like post #12 went by without a single reply.....except for me.
At least if there was an "outsider" or two browsing they wouldn't think too many Yankee fans are shallow...or prejudiced against the GM.

My reply to post #12 in THIS thread:

"Yeah....yeah.....I bet he does remember them.
If I remember correctly, (and I'm guessing Cashman also remembers).......
Austin Jackson is the guy they used to acquire Granderson who averaged (per 162 g) 37 HRs, 98 RBI, .829 OPS over four seasons and this includes one year when he played only 61 games due to a broken bone HBP in his forearm.

Back to Jackson- he has averaged career per season,, 10 HRs, 55 RBI, .731 OPS and 168 Ks and has hit a grand total so far,of 20 HRs since 2013.

Jesus Montero?....yes...the name rings a bell. Was supposed to be a "catcher" and has thrown out 14% (lol) of sb/att in his career.
Has a career .256 BA and .695 OPS....

....maybe he can replace Tex and/or Bird at 1b next year and we return Pineda to the Mariners"?

Before - maybe - before I leave .....just for the hell of it.....Yanks need 40 more wins to reach the "APPROX 90" wins I "predicted" before the season started.....why am I saying this now? Simple- as the board "ignores" me,...and I just might drop out anyway.....
I just want to remind y'all that I was the ONLY one who went as high as that.....some of you had the Yanks for 82-85 wins, that's fine....they could be right.

Another genius had them for .500, could be, but I doubted it in March...and STILL do.
Just do me a favor, when the Yanks win their 90th game, take your pals' head out of the sand long enough to remind them who predicted it.
And then tell them to eat my sh!t. Lol.

I think it's only fair since I've taken my share of bashing , and Pasta and Bernbabybern have ALSO recognized the chummy, snide, cheap shot triple teaming a couple/few of you guys specialize in. Still doesn't make "you" any smarter.

I usually avoid reading marathon posts but I did breeze through your last post, BLG don't take this the wrong way but......... though it is true that you've added some very good posts & have made some very sound decisions regarding the team you very often come off sounding like a kid that just had sand kicked in his face whenever someone doesn't agree with you. Hell, maybe you don't even realize it. There's no reason for you to leave if you could just stop coming off sounding like some sanctimonious pompous ass who needs to be right all the time. So if you stay that's fine, if not I wish you good luck where ever you end up.

...^^^ just from reading some of rick's responses, there's little doubt about who he's talking to. Some things just never change and I don't know why rick even responds to him at all anymore.
