Chad Curtiss, took over center when Bernie was injured. Hit some timely bombs in the World Series. No he's doing time . Hideki Irabu, the "Fat Toad" won 8 or 9 straight starts while the staff went into a funk. This year looks like Happ is filling in nice, Voit starting to catch fire in a way that could see a Bird Nest on the bench. Even Robinson is starting to hit and play his position. In light of the clubs current status those role players are essential.
