The problem is this is no longer an organization that will look to win at any costs. They took Heaney because he was free. Cessa and Wilson were traded for money reasons. Now the bullpen is in shambles.
We will probably still make it as a wc and win that game with Cole. But after that Cole can’t pitch till game 3 and we don’t have a starter that is allowed to pitch more than 5 innings. As a result which was easy to forecast our bullpen is running on fumes and unless there are some new bullpen arms I dont know about or they decide to let someone that has started and pitched 6 innings each time out and hasn’t given up a run yet like GIL who I saw on a milk carton the other day and is rumored to be in the witness protection program we are not beating anyone in the division round without the hitters waking up which I’m not holding my breath on. Can’t wait to hear the eventual Yankee explanation as to why after pitching the way he did Gil was exhiled while we use tomato cans like Heaney.
From day one, I saw Heaney as a RP, who eats up innings, when you're ready to forfeit the game... Even though he was a starter in Anaheim, and Anaheim starter is nothing more than a glorified reliever anywhere else, including Shoehorn.
