...needless to say, different guys have different tastes in women. Dark hair, dark eyes, and dark skin always does it for me...although I've had more than my fair share of blondes in my past.

...fwiw, I always thought Janine Turner, who played "Maggie" on Northern Exposure was a Goddess.

Back in the late '90's a friend of mine went to the Cracker Barrel in Orlando and ran into Marie Osmond. He said they hit it off, and had quite a conversation and stood for a picture with him. I thought he was BSing me but when he shoed me the photo I freaked, She was probably not full tilt boogie with the make up but she sure looked damn good. Dark hair, and complexion teeth white as snow. Always liked the dark haired dark skinned girls myself. Blondes, no thank you.

Growing up it was Sophia Loren, Gina Lollabridgida, Claudia Cardinale, Ursula Andress & Virna Lisi. Today I lean towards, Salma Heyak, Eva Mendez, Jennifer Lopez & Sarah Shahi.

I've taken a fair share of heat when I originally said/implied/felt.....use whatever word you want, that CC - imo - has made four starts and two of them have been "good".
Instead I heard about his 0-4 W-L record.

As for Gardner, I'll stand by my opinion (months ago) regarding his "lack of aggressivness in trying to steal bases" when I said I would be satisfied if he stole "only" 25-30 bases if he made considerable improvements on his overral batting numbers: (BA, OBP,OPS).
Of course I won't mind if steals 50,60 bases....but his current BATTING numbers are:
    BA 316, OBP .409 OPS .830. SB 5.....
I don't believe we should expect his speed and basestealing abilities to get better in the next couple/few years - he is going to be 32 in August....not old, but not exactly a youngster. As I've said, I wouldn't mind seeing him steal 49(?) bases, his previous seasonal high.....but I think if he can maintain a fairly close approximation to those BATTING numbers .....the Yankees will be better off EVEN IF HE STEALS ONLY 25 bases.

That's my opinion.....and bless Gardy's heart....he is now currently one of the very best ALL AROUND left fielders in the league.....and a .256 BA, .327 OBP (2014) will NOT get it done. Like to see him cut down on his K rate but his BATTING numbers make it much less painful. Lmao.

Ready to toss in the towel on the CC/ Gardy thing? You should.

Why don't you just say a nasty thing about me and let's finish this. Lol

You don't remember me speaking on Gardy's need to FIRST improve his HITTING?

You need to realize you are NOT talking with some jakoff kid baseball "fan" with the attention span of a house fly.

While YOU were making a major issue out of Gardy "not running enough"....
I was saying I would rather have .......oh, let's see here.....
    .....how about:
    BA 316, OBP .409 OPS .830.

    That'll do very nicely.

    Surrender accepted.

This is from the April 1, 2015 thread "Bret Gardner" started by someone else.
April 1 - before the season started and Gardner having a rough ST.
Here was my post (#18) April 1, 2015 in that thread.
    ___________________________________

Read the following regarding my opinion of Gardner which includes OBP, SB, not being as agressive as he could be on the bases, striking out 120 or so times, ect,
And read it twice so you get it right

    Ready, set, go!

The Yanks will be better served if Gardner first improves as a hitter, even if he continues to steal "only" 25 or so bases.

    1. Think about it as you watch him flounder with the bat.

      #18 __________________________________________________
Now, in late April, He's currently hitting well over .300 with an OBP of .400 or so.
I don't know if he'll maintain THAT pace over the season but I certainly would welcome it and If he continues anywhere near that pace I wouldn't mind one bit if he steals "only" 25-30 bases.
Now - as we speak, he is one of the best all around LFs in the league and it's NOT because he could steal 40-50 bases.....but I wouldn't mind that either.

Point being, imo, he and the Yanks would be better off if he FIRST improved as a hitter.

He'll get his SBs, but the signifcant improvement on his hitting is what will be a difference maker, not him being mainly a "40 SB guy" and a mediocre hitter.

THAT was, and still is my opinion.

    Does the truth hurt? Nah

    Lmao

Unless validation is that important to you I really don't see where or why this was even necessary. You made a statement about Gardner in the beginning of the season, okay terrific. I don't see where anyone debated that statement. And why would they? you were stating the obvious, what most if not all also felt to be true. I just don't see your point to this post.

...^^^ rick, if you remember, the original conversation and subject matter was about Gardner's poor baserunning/stealing instincts and nothing else...it had nothing to do with BA/OBP.

...but it was typically and predictably turned into something else.
