    Curious, a pitcher going to his mouth is illegal but when its raining out like it is now doesn't every pitch become a spitter?

    I don't want to turn this into a Pasta rant but in all honesty when I see Girardi put out a lineup like this it just adds to the reasons why I wouldn't miss him if they canned his ass. You're fighting for a wild card spot & you bench 3 of your regulars. Yeah I realize that with the exception of Beltran no one is really hitting but seriously. Win the fucking WC then give them a rest. I just think its nuts. JMO.

    ...this team has not had a day off since Sept 17th and a lot of the regs are probably gassed...they're facing a LHed pitcher so it's probably a scheduled day off for McCann and Ellsbury was hurt last night running into the OF wall.

    ...it's also a messy field and that may have factored in the decision...I don't see the problem myself.

    Apparently Ellsbury didn't hear Girardi's comments about him hurting his knee & that's why he was being rested because in a pre-game interview he (Ellsbury) let it be known that he felt fine & there was nothing wrong with him, going on to say that it was the managers decision. Like I said, CLINCH then rest. It is or should be about priorities & in this case that priority is winning the WC.

    ...according to the guys in the booth, Ellsbury has some back issues from running into the wall last night.

    ...and like I said, the team has not had an off day for almost two weeks and they still have 3 more games in a row vs the O's and then must play the WC game the next day....they're probably gassed...and if they're not, they soon will be.

    ...and like you said, Ellsbury and McCann have not been hitting that well anyway so again, I don't see the problem...especially since they're winning.

    It was Kay in the 1st inning who mentioned about Ellsbury saying he was okay & able to play. And this is now McCann 3rd off day in the last week. As far as them winning tonight, its early I hope it continues. I just want to see them clinch this damn WC so all the Regs could rest for the next few days. Okay, I'll shut up now on this topic.

    ...Someone got the wrong info;

      Ellsbury is out of the lineup Thursday due to a sore back, Jack Curry of the YES Network reports. (about 4 hours ago)

    ...and again, Murphy is probably a better option than McCann vs a LHed pitcher. And Rick, you've brought up the fact before that none of us really knows what's going on behind the scenes...and we don't.

    Meredith reported to Michael during his show that Ellsbury did say he could play that it was minor soreness. Girardi said he was going to REST HIM one day during the Baltimore series anyway. Manager's decision. Don't argue with me Ron I will kick your ass.............LMFAO

    Just observing as a fan. And Kay & Curry should get there notes straight because they're telling 2 different stories.

    and all I got is this left over stale :popcorn: Redenbachers........

    CC's worked deep into his ball/strike count, a bit too much, yet looks like CC is finding the corners, with a bit of work, and he's was painting them, nonetheless......

    3 BB's in 5 IP, a bit of extra work .....

    I'm late to the festivities. It's my little ones birthday today. I see it's the same boring nonsense and they will try and figure out how to sit on a 2-1 lead.
