I would have loved to have had either Prado or Solarte at 3rd this past season. And yeah Vic they definitely need to find a way to move Gardner.

...^^^Prado should never have been traded to begin with...and I was all for moving Gardner a couple of years ago.

I'm not as upset about the guys moved as I am of the bad contracts that strap this team right now. They become place holders for positions I'd rather see kids in.

...and Headley is one of those bad contracts...he should have never been resigned for as much or as long as he was,...Prado was already under team control at a reasonable amount of dollars and years. His contract ends after 2016 which would have been ideal instead of committing to Headley through 2018.

...even if Headley was a GG 3Bman, (and he's not) his offensive production is pedestrian at best for a 3Bman.

Outside of one year he's a singles hitter with some doubles here and there. He's not a good enough average hitter to justify the two spot. Perhaps if he was Wade Boggs but that's a joke to even bring up.

I don't know where that one year came from with San Diego (2012) where he had 31/115/286 with an ops of 875. His high in HRs prior was 12 & only 13 since.

...he got paid for that one anomalous year too...kinda like Ellsbury getting the contract he received because evidently Cashman was somehow convinced that his 2011 year was gonna be the norm (.321 .376 .552 .928 with 32 HRs and 105 RBIs from the leadoff spot)(he should have won the MVP)....Ellsbury has never come close to anything like that, before or since.

    ...Good job, Brian.

Yeah these big contracts based solely on a good year or two is ridiculous.
