...the BS I've recently heard from the Tampa brain trust and from Cashman makes me wonder exactly how much say so Girardi has on some things.

Regarding some of these proposals bringing up lesser known "non-top prospect" youngsters.
I just hope what Girardi said today isn't influencing some of these decisions.
After he lost it during tonight's pregame interview concerning why Arod wasn't in the lineup these past two games at Fenway after he had said he could play in all the games.
Well anyway- he also made a statement saying he not only has an obligation to put the best team on the field, but also an obligation to the other teams who have something at stake in these games.

Well excuse me Joe- this is August 10 and the Yanks have ALREADY made a decision to go with younger players and have traded away three very good players and the heck with the other teams, the Yankees have an obligation to do what's best for their organization and their "young" players.

Judge continues bombing away. Hit another homer tonight and seems ready for some MLB time. There's no guarantees on the MLB level but I'd much rather see the growing pains of Judge than the uselessness of Hicks.

...fwiw, I see no reason to play ARod...yeah, sure, I can't stand him but let's face it, he can't hit, which is precisely why he's playing his last game Friday. If he had been producing it would be a different story.

This team is the king of the double play. I know it's about transition and playing it out but it pains me to see how bad the hitters on this team are.

Perhaps but still a completely well out in front garbage swing leading to absolutely nothing. I've never seen a worse club at the plate with runners on.

Lol, looks like we have a Girardi apologist.
I still say he couldn't manage a telephone booth.
And....he has a problem handling pressure when the team is struggling and ownership decides to throw it's weight around which is their right- he should be thankful The Boss isn't in charge, he would've already dumped him. He would've never survived The Boss.
Girardi had this job gift-wrapped for him and has had a nice comfey ride.
He seems to be the ONLY manager who doesn't take the hits for the performance of a team....over here, it's all about bashing ownership and the GM for everything which goes wrong ON THE FIELD.
The sooner they fire Cashman will result in them dumping this overrated smug dikhead.
Amoung other things, he's the only dope who managed to let games get away in the 5th and 6th innings while having possibly the best bullpen trio in baseball.
Lol, Terry Francona recently used Miller in the 6th inning and help the team win a game.
The time is coming -imo- when bad contracts and a poorly constructed roster isn't going to be a successful smokescreen for Girardi.

I kind of disagree with both of you. Arod deserves nothing, he can cash his checks. Until Cashman brings up Austin, Judge, and anyone else then Joe gets to play with a short deck. Tex should be traded or DFA. Let Austin play 1B or 3B and let Headley float along with McCann. Judge in right.

I do agree that the roster is certainly at joke proportions and was so going into the season. They needed a perfect storm of guys hitting and while I didn't think it would be as bad as it has been a lot of these guys were god awful the last months of last season.

LOL Yankees lead 6-4. Boston's pitching really is putrid.

They keep coming up with good young players/hitters but their pitching appears to have taken a step backwards.

Sanchez just mashed that ball. That is power. It might be my age, but off the cuff, I can't think of the last right handed hitter to post more than 20 hrs except Arod in a long time. Any help?

What a blast by Sanchez - yikes.
The thing about Sanchez and Bird, pitchers better bring their "A" game and not make too many mistakes because these kids will quickly put some points on the board.
Yanks have been starving for dynamic young hitters who can bring the people to their feet.

Sanchez looks like the better all around hitter but I'm kinda expecting/hoping Bird will be a "30" Homer guy.
