Note to Judge, other team just laying first pitch in there be ready to smash it and with 2 strikes get the bat off your shoulder and go down swinging at least. You have too big a reach to be taking some of these third strikes without at least taking a whack at it.

And we saw a prime example yesterday why they probably won't qualify for at least WC game.
They got a well pitched game from their SP who left the game after allowing 1 run in 6.2 IP but the Yanks couldn't muster a single run and failed to complete the sweep of Baltimore which also prevented them from putting a 5 game win streak togther.
Alot has happened over the course of the season and the Yanks made their beds earlier in the season but- yesterday's loss at this point in time is the single biggest reason why the Yanks are barely on the edge of a WC race and are now a mini losing streak away from needing a small miracle.

The difference (2 games) between being 3 games out and 1 game out is gigantic when all the WC chasers are bunched together and playing each other alot down the stretch.

Those fukn pitches from Gee are bending AROUND the fukn outside corner and the ump keeps ringing them up.
Time for the youngsters to take out their note pads.
When a pitcher is a notorious nibbler/ corner worker and the HP ump is giving the pitcher the corners----> SWING THE BAT.

Ever notice? When a pitcher like Gee is pitching he seems to get many more close calls for strikes on the outside corner than a pitcher like Pineda or some other similiar type who throws hard with sharp breaking balls?

The reason- those other Pineda types have more dominant stuff but tend NOT to continously nibble on the corners while the "Gee" types make a concerted effort to entice and expand the strike zone and the HP ump kinda gives him the benefit and more respect than he would of the harder thrower who doesn't have similar command.

Much like Eovaldi it's frustrating with guys like Pineda. There's talent there but you can wait forever for it to materialize or be effective. The Yankees are going to need to look for starting pitching moving forward.

    Parker-

David Cone was saying he thought these relief innings should've been given to Severino but the Yanks obviously prefer for him to work on things as a SP.
I have to agree with Cone. Why not just recall Severino and make him pitch out of the bullpen instead of some of these bums the Yanks have been recycling.
Cone has openly disagreed with Yankee management a number of times regarding player development and roster moves concerning the pitching, and also position players.
That's why I like Cone alot better than Al (Michael Kay's buddy) Leiter.....Cone also offers more from a baseball player's viewpoint compared to Leiter who was an absolute dork as a "player" and only speaks about the pitchers, ad nauseum to no end.
By the way, the difference in the game was the 3 run HR allowed by Parker.
