Hear ya loud and clear- I always root for a storm whenever there's a rain delay AND the Yanks are leading in an official game.

Game has resumed.....Yanks had 2nd and 3rd with NO OUTS and they're still there---Didi now up with 2nd and 3rd, two outs..Yanks 4-2.

Nope- Didi flies out for 3rd out.
Bottom 6th, Yanks lead 4-2 and this game is a long way from being over.

Dammit, Yanks had 2nd and 3rd no outs in top 6th and couldn't score a run.
Austin walked, Gardner doubled and fukn Ellsbury struck out- then Sanchez grounded to drawn in 1b, and Didi flied out.

    Game is in Warren's hands...bottom 6th.
Oops, infield single and an RBI double by Cain on a hanging meatball....now 4-3 Yanks, runner on 2nd no outs- Layne replaces Warren and the Yanks are in hot water.

A Red Sox retread is not the answer.............you douche bag, Trashman.
Girardi, what are you doing?..........proving Trashman's cheap pick up is just that!

Of Yankees 10 hits so far.........7 were wasted. This may come back and bite them ( with another loss).

Clippard replaces Layne- KC runners 1st and 3rd one out, Yanks lead 4-3 with Perez up.

Yeesh- Perez absolutely smoked a short hopper to Headley....an early Christmas gift as Headley comes up with it and goes around the horn for an inning ending DP.....and I have no confidence in any Yankee reliever who isn't Betances.

It's like playing Russian Roulette with the Yankee relief pitchers.
Very easy to envision this group gagging away games during crunch time.

I kinda expect it to happen.
Yanks had runners on 1st and 3rd no outs in 1st inning and didn't score-
They had runners on 2nd and 3rd no outs in the 6th inning and didn't score.

Castro just made an error to prolong the 7th inning, KC now has runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs....Clippard facing Dyson....tic tic tic tic

Dyson flies out to end the 7th.
Betances might be called on to get more than an inning.
Shit...Judge just looked at a first pitch straight fastball right down the middle.

KC ties up game...Cain stole 2nd base and went to 3rd on throwing error on Sanchez...then a sac fly.
Sanchez throw had Cain beat but he bounced it and it went through Didi to CF....tough ball for Didi to handle and rough error for Sanchez.
The throw was a missile but it skipped.

Yanks take the lead 5-4 in 10th.
They loaded the bases and Ellsbury got an infield hit off Soria's leg.
    Heller tries for the save.

Yanks win....hold on precariously for the W.
Girardi takes out Heller with bases loaded one out and brings in Shreve.
Shreve Ks Morales and gets Perez to fly out to CF.

Yanks exhale. They were this close to a brutal loss.

Heller got ahead with two strikes on the first batter Mondesi-- then Heller hits him on the toe with a breaking ball.
Dyson then singles to CF, Mondesi to 3rd.
    Dyson promptly steals 2nd-
Heller Ks Cain, then they INT walked Hosmer to load the bases one out.
Morales due up and Girardi brought in Shreve.
A strikeout, a flyball, and the Yanks win.

Give credit to Girardi....he pressed the right button with Shreve.
I would've stuck with Heller looking for him to K Morales, but Shreve came in and did the job.

    Hats off to Girardi.
Joe, you ARE the genius tonight.

    Kinda entertaining game.
KC can really put pressure on pitchers and defenses.

In reference to Layne, the cheap pick up!

^^^^ 1/3 of an inning.........that's all you could stomach, Girardi? Thank God!

Lillie, you beat me to it....... Who would have thunk it! Lol

Just read the game play by play. Was cursing that rain delay knowing the pen would have to finish up. Reading that and the recap looks loike things got really hairy and of all people Shreve came through. Yankees take season series from KC with one game to play.

Saw the game highlights on quick pitch this a, to include a history of the "Rally Mantis" Heidi got a bit carried away with that one telling it with a pseudo British accent. Looked like a real nail biter and as much as I've bashed Shreve this season, the man looked real good on those last two outs.
