just got in. listening in to post game, i hear alex got his 3000th, congrats, a dinger? wow, glad to hear warren had a good game, big win... surprised to hear the panel so negative bout arod.....
ARod squandered every gift from the baseball gods....what I feel about that can't be summed up in a single word.
Gardner turns into superman round Detroit, guy was all over from both sides of the plate last night. Still remember that game in '13 at YS when Mo gave up bombs to Miggy and V-mart and Gardner got the game winner.
??????? He WAS signed as an ace 12/2008, he USED TO pitch like an ace 2009- 2012 His last full season 2013 - 4.78 ER, 1.37 WHIP, He lost velocity, had knee surgery in May 2014, was out until ST this year and the Yanks had him start the season as the #3 SP behind Tanaka and Pineda while most people were already questioning if can ever be an effective SP again....and you say currently,.. ... he "is expected to be an ace"? This year? Here and now? Did the Yanks NOT have him ALREADY #3 at the start of the season? "expected" ace? And then , lol, you tell ME to stop with the idiocy ? yikes!
...as per usual, reading comprehension is not your friend. CC was signed to "be an ace" and was "signed to ace money"...if you can dispute this, present some tangible proof...but the fact is you can't. ...CC's contract had an "opt out" clause, which he exercised, and he was given a $30 Mil raise and and extra year added...so CC's new contract began for the 2012 season, not 2009 season as you referenced. And his decline and drop on the rotational depth chart has nothing to do with what was originally expected of him when he signed.
For the holidays my wife makes an awesome banana pudding trifle using them. In fact I think that's where this extra box was from lol.
His denials to the point of trying to sue everybody is what hurt him. He could've taken his punishment and likely wouldn't of lost a year.
...if you want a great variation, tell your wife that for the bottom layer, use banana moon pies instead of vanilla wafers...then make the rest of the pudding as usual...good stuff.
i will say this for the last time, the ped issue is all on selig... yea arod acts like a jerk so what. most BP's were...... in 1987 weight lifting was part of spring training, we were NOT taught the proper way of lifting for baseball, we were split up in 2's and on our own, right after an hour and a half pumpin iron we were on the field, our arms & legs jacked, tell me how do you play the game of baseball that way? PEDS came into play basically the very next year, do the math, and selig new WTF was going on.... so why wouldn't one defend themselves with a lawsuit when caught?
I agree that Selig was a big factor in the steroid era especially during the McGwire / Sosa HR race of 1998 where Selig credited these two with saving the game. Not to mention all the "Chicks dig the long ball" commercials, but honestly I think PEDs go back further then 1988. Hell I remember the questions & flags going up in 1986 when Kirby Puckett's HR totals went from 4 in 1985 (161 games) to 31 in 1986 (161 games).
I know this isn't the NFL, but I just saw a Documentary of Lyle Alzado's life. He stated he used Roids since day one in the NFL, whether that is true or not, I don't know...... However, when he was traded to the Raiders in 82, Lyle was NOT the norm......and Yep, I think he was using Roids as early as the mid 70s, when He was with Denver......IMO.... How does this relate to MLB...? Who really knows, and those who do, aren't really telling......
not in baseball, other sports ,yes... coke & greenies were big prior to peds, we had all agencies lookin out for us.. atf, fbi came every spring training giving us the heads up bout coke dealers and women at hotels slippin jimmies in our drinks takin us back to rooms and robbin us, atf showin videos of what tobacco was doing to athletes doin chaw, guys with jaws removed and chit like that, as you know chewin tobacco was finally banned in minors, not in bigs don't understand that one, but whatever...
not in baseball, other sports ,yes... coke & greenies were big prior to peds, we had all agencies lookin out for us.. atf, fbi came every spring training giving us the heads up bout coke dealers and women at hotels slippin jimmies in our drinks takin us back to rooms and robbin us, atf showin videos of what tobacco was doing to athletes doin chaw, guys with jaws removed and chit like that, as you know chewin tobacco was finally banned in minors, not in bigs don't understand that one, but whatever...
Sorry Pasta, I'm not buying it. Maybe as an individual you didn't see it but that doesn't mean it didn't exist. Puckett didn't make a 27 HR jump in 86 just by taking greenies or changing his stance. And the rumors of PED use were not just reserved to other sports.
When it comes to steroids in baseball I think a lot of people who report about it miss the point about how exactly they give an advantage. The biggest advantages in my opinion are increased bat speed which will certainly help you hit the ball further and the bodies overall recovery.
