ARod isn't looking for awards or for that matter and extra media attention. To this end, I think the punishment has wrested the appropriate contrition. He's not due any absolution for this, and from what I see he gets this. I hear you Ron, for me the sad part is exactly as you say, he made all this happen. Rather than celebrating his accomplishments, fans will always wonder what could have been.
Which is why every time I hear Kay singing his praises in the same breath with Hank Aaron I have to laugh.
