it's pretty simple. his injury isn't as bad this time. he has a hairline fracture in his foot. you don't think there is a difference in an injury that takes 2-3 months of rest to heal, an injury that takes surgery with screws and more time to heal, and an injury that took twice as long of rest to heal? and as i said, this summer he isn't playing for china. it's his first real summer in a long time.
This is what I thought might happen when the Chinese thing first came up. Cavs will have 2010 capspace and Yao will be a free agent. Would Yao go against the Chinese government's wishes if that is what they want? Although, if the Cavs can get Ben Gordon, Hedo Turkoglu or Carlos Boozer to agree to sign a one year deal, with the promise of more next year, I would think they would have to take that over waiting around for Yao, because they are a player of that caliber away from being the big favorites to win the championship.
Is that you Kevin McHale? What have you been up to? Must not be studying the salary cap very well or you'd know Cavs don't have cap room this offseason. Or maybe you think those guys would sign for 1 year at MLE?
