okay u guys are a product of the espn generation, the answer is yao. skilled seven foot dudes come along once a decade; wilt, kareem, pause..., shaq and now yao.
no question lebron, more explosive and if i was to build a franchise i want a star guard over a star big man IMO.plus i live in cleveland so what u want me to say.
I would pick LeBron. He is a human higlight reel and will bring in tons and tons of endorsements from others and bring popularity for my team. Then after all the money I made, I Would pursue Yao in the free agency.
lebron of course, lebron will have a better career and will just be a better player even thogh he already is.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Prodigy:</div><div class="quote_post">HAHA...LeBron doesn't even have the grace of MJ...He's good and all...but he seems all sloppy...His dunks are just explosive...the pics aren't that pretty...His ball handling looks weird... Maybe it's his body frame, built, etc....he doesn't look like he's floating. Now Kobe Bryant...he is MJ reincarnated. I got pics...Ill show u later.</div> I meant LeBron is obviouly more better than Yao. Any yes LeBron is MJ reincarnated. LeBron is only 19 and averages 20-5-5 in rookie season. He carries his team to new hieghts. LOLLOLOLOL When I saw the Kobe and MJ comparison I LAUGHED LIKE HELL. Kobe could've had his own team to start with, but he whined like a puss* and wanted to go to the Lakers because he knew they were going to be good because Shaq was there. Kobe is like T-Mac a whiner. Kobe also did'nt average any thing close to LeBron and he came out of high school too. And don't give me that crap where he did'nt start. If he truly was MJ reincarneted don't you think the Coach would've saw it and started him over Eddie Jones. The Coach sees their talent at practice and knows how they preform a lot better than you do. Who would you start if you were a coach? LeBron James or Micheal Finley? Because Eddie Jones was like Micheal Finley is today. LeBron James right. It clearly show LEBron developed faster and he will only continue to do so. Damn Kobe Fanboys.....
You guys do realize that Lebron is nowhere near Yao in terms of selling right? Lebron might make highlight reels, but who are the 3 billion ppl in China gonna root for? Sure as hell ain't Lebron. He'll never be anywhere near Yao in terms of endorsements and franchise selling power. It all depends on what you build your team for and who you have. Yeah Lebron might be better than Yao on pure talent-wise, but if you're comitted to winning, you take Yao. Without a doubt. A big man as good as Yao is just that much rarer than a LeBron. A talented swingman is no rare stuff. No dynasty has ever been built on guards/swingmen except MJ. Lebron isn't MJ. He might be later in his career but he ain't there yet. 20/5/5 is pretty impressive but you gotta consider that he's in a crappy ass team in a crappy ass conference. Yao, together with Francis, helping his team go to the playoff in the West is a much more accomplishment than that 20/5/5 stats that Lebron has. Put Yao in a crappy team with nobody else and he'll get 20/10. That deception guy said it. You guys are a product of the espn generation.. play some bball, do a little reading on nba histories first before u snap on that quick.
both can sell tickets, both exceptionally rare for the respective positions, both young... but very few people have won without a big man.... and YAO Ming is the big man... therefore Yao Ming would be my first choice... but geez that is tough... and in terms of franchise profitability... Yao would do better.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">but who are the 3 billion ppl in China gonna root for?</div> 1 billion... not 3 billion In relation to Lebron and all this espn 'hype' up so to speak, in my opinion is that its about business... no one done as much financially speaking for the NBA then MJ, after all NBA itself is a business. MJ is gone.... no one there to replace him financially speaking.... you get an exceptional player in Lebron James, better yet a high school kid.... you hype him up incredibly and all of a sudden fans, and soon to be fans, start tuning into the NBA to see Lebron.... and the bottom line, equals business.... ...by pursuading people to believe all this talk of Lebron James, they will spend money on NBA related products (which has been a direct result) and all of a sudden in terms of public relations, and public appeal.... the NBA has a new torch bearer in the hands of a gifted 19yr old to guide this business into a profitable future... but dont get me wrong.... Lebron is rare, a freak, gifted and so on.... but I think at least half the hype around him is for financial gains.... but he is a Hall of fame probability for sure.
Yao no doubt. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Lebron and I acknowledge his accomplishments, but players like him are common these days. Look at McGrady, Bryant, Anthony and Vince Carter. They all play the same position, and Lebron is not the best of that mix yet. Guys might say that guys like Lebron come by once in 15 years, I'd like to introduce them to the list above. Hell, you can't say that these players are different from Lebron by lots. Yao, on the other hand, is the one that is hard to come by. Guys his height have not really succeeded in the NBA; look at guys like Shawn Bradley and George Murehsan. Yao, up to now, has not done anything to place himself in the class of those guys yet, but it's no guarantee that he won't in the future. Still, big men win championships and it would be great down the road to say that the greatest center of the 2000's played for my team, and led it to numerous championships.
Defenitly Lebron he can and will be better than mj possibly the third or fourth best player in history.
You can't say you would take LeBron because he's going to sell tickets. Yao will probably sell as many or more by the time their careers are done. Yao has made the Rockets a lot of money with everything Yao does in China and the Asian market he attracts. Right now Yao is the better player, LeBron may become better, but he isn't yet. Yao is the best all around big man in the game already, with his passing, rebounding, and nice shooting touch. I don't care who's the bigger star, I care who wins the games. I'm not trying to say LeBron isn't great, but saying you'd pick him because he's a bigger star is just stupid. Who would you rather have Allen Iverson or Tim Duncan? Iverson's the bigger star, would you want him over Duncan?

Damn Kobe Fanboys.....</div> LeBron is playing the same role as MJ...but Kobe is playing the same "game" as MJ..get it. Yeha LEBron is like Mike in terms of taking a horrible team into new heights in all..But I was talking about on the court play, and intangibles. Others and I think that Kobe Bryant does possess Jordan-like qaulities, he's not better, but from all the kats in the league today, he is "like him". That statement in which you said that Kobe didn't put "those" numbers when he came out of high school...T-mac, JO, KG, etc....they didn't put up great minutes and points. Who cares what Kobe did in his rookie year...and yes he did airball those shots...nobody wanted to take those shots...it's because Kobe has enough balls to take the shots when it counts and thrives when pressure is there just like MJ...he's not even close to being better than MJ...but his game is alike.. If Kobe's such a whiner, *****... HE PLAYED like 8 seasons with Shaq...I don't think T-mac, MJ, would even stand to PLAY with him...but KOBE REALIZED that SHAQ is the key to rings...and that's what happend...Now it's Kobe's time to shine. It sounds like your saying LeBron is better than Kobe? Who knows? As a rookie...LeBron is better..he got ROY of the year...he's amazing yes... But you can not compare the two seasons because Kobe had a different role. AND KOBE still played in the ASG. I don't know why you are gettin' pissed. LeBron is a freak of nature..he has an NBA body...Kobe Bryant like regular people was still growing..and his frame was skinny as hell. Also, Kobe Bryant was on a good team (Van Exel, Jones, Shaq, etc.) Kobe's role was not to be the star...but LeBron's role is to put Cleveland to new hieghts... As a rookie LeBron was pheonominal...let's see how LBJ takes Cleveland. And we will see what Kobe Bryant does with the Lakers. AGAIN...LeBron is playing the same role as MJ...but Kobe is playing the same "game" as MJ..get it.
We'll find out the truth about Kobe this season, and you are gonna find he is no different from TMac and AI when he's on his own. There will never be another Michael Jordan that's a fact we're just gonna have to face. To answer the question I'd take Yao because you can't win a championship without a big man. Someone teaches him some drive he'll be the best.
