<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JuLiO-R-:</div><div class="quote_post">Rafer Alston wasn't brought in to score. He was brought in to run the offense, and make the open jumpers that Tracy and Yao will be creating for him. Mike James may be more valuable now, but that's only because Tracy McGrady is out. I can't tell you how many times Mike James ignored passing to Yao or McGrady last year. To the Rockets Mike James was only valuable as a spark off the bench. But there's no way he can run an offense. And that's why James got traded. Rafer Alston is a much better fit for Yao and McGrady. He can make great passes, push the ball up the court in a hurry, and make the open shot. Things aren't looking to great now because the Rockets are still trying to build up chemistry with eachother. And that becomes alot harder with McGrady out. Last year it took T-Mac until December to get comfortable with the team. So everyone quit freaking out, and just give it time. The peices are there, but they just haven't been put together yet. And you guys say I don't watch the games, but atleast I know that a slow start doesn't mean the end of the season.</div> First of all you say rafer is brought to run the offense, make open jumpers that yao and mac create for him//?/ Thats right except he isnt making open threes and important layups what more can he do?.... and dont u think as a pg hes supposed to create openings for yao and mac with his assists?? which he aint doin... <strike>And i think you should watch the game you have no credibility watching the stats man</strike>.. And no 1 in here said it would be the end of the season.. Yao and Tmac would save the rockets when theyre in full strength. BUT THEY DO need help from the supporting cast including rafer....... 2 players cant win a team no matter how good they are its a team game .. and for you to say rafer is better than mike james right now is laughable judging from the way he played the pass 4 games.. [red]Way to make an impression man, but you won't be staying here very long if you keep attacking others. ~Locke[/red]
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rock4life:</div><div class="quote_post">You make some really silly statements. If you had watched ALL the games instead of just this one, you'd know that Alston has been solid as pg. Having Mike James would be even worse, because instead of pass the ball, he'd be jackin up 3's and turning the ball over. It's funny how you can come down on Skip, and praise David Wesley in the other threads. I guess I'll never figure you out..........</div> You got aznkillabeez mixed up with AznxBaller...Apologize now before it's too late...

What I'm trying to tell you guys is that you're all getting on Rafer Alston way to early. I know nobody said it was the end of the season, but the way you guys are talking saying things like "Rafer Alston can't make a layup to save his life" makes it look you've all giving up hope. And I still think Rafer Alston is a better PG, but I never said right now. I'm talking about the future. Rafer Alston fits better on the Rockets than Mike James did. Right now nobody is playing well except Yao. Give the team some time, and they should get better. If they don't then I was wrong about things, and I'll admit it. But don't be attacking me. I see Locke had to warn you already. Cmon man, just give my your opinion.

Just let the season progress. Atleast 15 games and you guys can see where this team might be in the playoffs, but if I told you that last season I would have been wrong. Give Rafer a chance, I think its still WAY to early to decide how he will play for us this season. I may have said some other things before (in preseason, which i still believe in), but he will catch on. Everyone is just pannicing now that T mac is gone, and want to point fingers at everyone. We have a damn well good reason to be losing our games, and its just like when Phoenix lost 6 straight w/o Nash. T mac brings everything LITERALLY (except blocks, which yao deka and swift can take care of) to the court. That really helps our team. He is like 30% of our salary cap. Cheer up guys.
changed your tune from preseason when you said that there was no way the Rockets would get off to a slow start...

Do you think they'll be 17-17?
