Asian player of the year Yasser Al-Qahtani is set to build on his recent prizewinning form with a trial at Chelsea.

The Pensioners have a cooperation agreement in place with the Asian Football Confedration (AFC), who are keen for their star asset to gain exposure abroad.

The Al-Hilal player, then, is likely to enjoy two weeks at Chelsea's training base in Cobham - providing that the Saudi club agreed that he is allowed to do so.

"Most of the Arab players don't make a big impact in Europe," said the 25 year old to newspaper Al-Riyadh.

"But I am very confident and I know I'll have to make more efforts to prove myself and break though among the world's elites.

"I already have some offers but I'll have to examine them very well with my agent and the Hilal's bosses to choose what's best for me."

    Al-Qahtani, born in Al-Khubar, signed for Al-Hilal in 2005.
